I've recently begun manufacturing a dash accessory rail designed for 08-15 Lx570. While awaiting the arrival of the first batch, I've been experimenting with the model and have developed another version for the 16-21 Land Cruiser. Here are some images of the prototype. What do you think?

I like your design a lot, but would need one to fit my 2013 Land Cruiser. Any chance you would develop one?
TIA

I like it. How does it mount?

I am looking for something like that so I can mount my Garmin Overland Tread XL and GoPro.

You will need to drill into the speaker cover to mount it. Here is a sample image of how it mounts on an Lx (early prototype); the same approach applies to the Land Cruiser version, the only difference being the shape of the part.

Yep, I'm working on it. Hopefully, I can have it ready later this year.

definitely interested in one for '13 LC. I have the Gamiviti solution right now, and I'd prefer something that fit a little better/looks a little more integrated. This looks like it fits the bill.

Quick update: Hey, everyone! I'm in the final stages of developing the 16-21 LC mount rail. I have two prototypes that I'd like to give away in exchange for your feedback and suggestions. If you're interested in trying it out for your off-road trips and are willing to provide feedback and share photos of your interior accessory setup, please DM me.

PS: You will need some #10-24, 3/4" screws to install the mount.

Hey guys, thanks for your patience. The dash mounts are finally available for order.

Before you place an order, there are a couple of things I should clarify:

  • This is my weekend project outside of my 8-5 job. I designed the first mount for my 2011 LX and started to develop additional versions using that base design. The part is developed by an enthusiast, not someone from the auto parts industry. (And that's why all the delays…)
  • The initial batch is all 3D printed with a plastic composite, so you'll notice a unique surface finish due to the nature of this manufacturing method.
  • The material is heat-resistant up to 144°F. I've been using the mount in my LX with a tablet and an AirPlay screen for a couple of months now, and it has held up very well.
  • The product comes with a 3D printed dash mount, a hardware pack, and a one-pager instruction. You'll need to drill into your speaker cover to install the mount.
  • I have a very limited stock available, so act fast if you want one!
  • Lastly, since Christmas vacation is approaching, I'll do my best to fulfill orders placed before Dec 24. However, any orders placed after the 24th won't be shipped out before the new year.

Emm, let me look into that. While shipping costs to Australia would be higher, I can certainly arrange it if you're okay with that. Additionally, I need to double-check the process for clearing customs

I may ask. So you used something like PET-CF?
Done pretty nicely. Had something like this bolted to my plate till I taped my ugly aluminum welded switch board.

Good thing is you don’t have to cover so much variations since the US got only the fancy bling bling Cruisers with speakers build in that plate.

Happy holidays!

I just received the dash mount for my 2013 LC200 - very impressed! Packaging was very professionally done, and of course the dash mount itself looks great.

Maybe I'm just an idiot, but there is one thing I can't figure out. All the mounting holes on the mount seem to be blocked by plastic mesh. Am I supposed to just drill through this mesh when I go to attach the mount to my dash cover? Are some holes supposed to not be used, so the mesh makes the unused holes more aesthetically pleasing?

Thanks for any help here.

Happy New Year!

Ordered for my 2013 LC as well!

Out of curiosity, did yours also come with the mesh in all the holes?

I'm wondering if these are supposed to be like this, or mine is a one-off...

TIA

That looks like 3D printer filament scaffolding(?) I think it's called. It allows weird shapes to be made perfectly with the scaffolding while being printed to be later removed/destroyed by the user after printing is complete. Check with whoever you bought it from, but that's my guess.

Yes, you can drill right through the mesh, it is a very thin layer(0.01in) of material.
