My wife started her LC this morning to warm it up before leaving for work. She said she came out after it was running for a few minutes and said it was idling really low, then revved up quite a bit. She shut the car off and now it won't start.

I tired to start it. After pressing the start button that was green, it didn't turn over and the green light on the starter button stayed on. Under the hood, I could her a buzzing that sounded like it was coming from near or behind the fuse/relay box behind the battery. (Towards the firewall.) We were in a bit of a rush trying to get to work so that's about the best I can describe what was going on under the hood.

I disconnected the battery since it wouldn't 'reset'. I tried again to start it but same deal.

The car was starting and running normally yesterday and the battery is under 3 years old.

Any ideas as to what is going on?

If you have the tools pull the codes, check battery voltage, check terminal condition.

Would start with the obvious:
Make sure it's not out of gas
Check if battery terminals are loose
Check battery and try to jump start
Test alternator voltage
Check for current draw
Thanks, I will try to jump it, which will help narrow things down. I don't have any way to read codes or do much testing unfortunately.

The battery checked out ok, but needed to charge. I got it charged, and the car started. While running I pulled the negative battery terminal. Car died.

It's going in tomorrow for probably a new alternator.

Thanks everyone for the help! It usually is really back to the basics...

I thought, even with the alternator putting out voltage, the 200 won’t run without a battery.

If that was his alternator test, it was a bad way to test. I would never pull off a battery terminal on a running vehicle.
