I would like to but i really dont want to relocate the gas tank. Not really sure what im going to do yet but ive been researching rear 3 links. very undecided as of now
I didn't have to relocate the gas tank.

Been busy with an engine swap and some other projects but got back around to workin on the truck a little. I dont have much free time and dont want miss any rides this fall so i decided not to totally redo the rear suspension right now. I swapped in some @TRAIL TAILOR upper and lower arms and got some 2in tourflex springs also. my plan is to get my truck lowered back close to the height it was when i originally did the axle swap. all of my geometry was pretty good when it was that height so im trying to get it back there. started on the rear this afternoon, will tackle the front after i finish the rear.

rigged up an adjustable track bar to the axle centered.

pushed the rear axle back about an inch

tourflex vs the ome 863. also removing the ~1" spacer that i used with them.

picked up this ruffstuff universal truss bridge to tie my upper mounts to the pinion for a little extra support

got the rear mostly done today, just need to adjust the pinion angle.

actually gained an inch over the just the 863 springs but its basically the same height as the 863s and the spacer that was in there.
i was hoping to end up an inch or so lower but it will work fine. at least its not taller lol.

If I remember right if those are the medium coils that's 600 pounds at 2 in overstock so it was a loaded 2 in coil. So since you are light it gave you most likely a 4" lift.
You will like the dual rate coils on the rear. I have found they unload or buck less going off camber & down hills giving more control. If you are running a 26.5" shock & want lower lift try the 862 coils plus 25mm space. They will give you since you are light in rear approx 2" lift. They are a 170/260 rate.
Great build thread been watching for years.

Double post, so sorry...
All though your uptravel looks to be about 4" right now lowering it might not be ideal.

thanks! i researched til my head hurt trying to find springs that were pretty tall free height and didnt provide much lift. its next to impossible to know what will work on my truck without just trying them lol. i think these will work fine since i didnt really need to lower it, just kind of wanted to. my frame height is 25" on 42's so i guess its not that bad.

im still running the ome L shocks (that i put on it in 2008) and they will droop enough for these new springs to just barely unseat. (about 1/4") the old springs were unseated at least 3".

the up travel is kind of deceiving since those factory bumps in the springs are so soft. they compress a lot before stopping and i dont have the hard rubber bumps mounted to the frame. they used to be a lot closer before i cut the back off the truck and its not noticeable at all when hitting them.

just a little update, ive been out on a few trips since working on the rear suspension and i can say without a doubt that it was a huge improvement over what i had. it is much more stable on off camber stuff and it tracks way better now. its much easier to keep on a line now that the control arms are tight and the axle cant shift around like it was with the blown out factory joints.
i wish i had some pics of the access road to this trail but its an old logging road that is off camber and winds around the side of the mountain. then it drops down a 10-12ft high embankment into the creek and it has always been really sketchy in my truck. this is the first time i ran it that my truck wasnt lifting a rear tire or getting really unstable dropping in. super happy with the improvements.

Finally got out after almost a year of no riding. ive been so busy with work and hadnt touched the lexus since my last ride in january. work is getting somewhat back to normal now so im hoping to get some more riding in this fall. didnt get many pics this trip since it rained ALL day and was a muddy mess everywhere lol.

Hard to believe its been 2 years since ive been out riding. Nothing new with the truck really, just re-welded a few cracked welds, tightened some bolts and went on a ride finally. Cant really complain about the ol lexus though, its been taking a beating for the last 12-13 years and hasnt complained much lol. Wish i had taken more pics but i was busy gettin all the ridin in that i could on some of the new trails at the park.
