How tough would it be to just add back in the rear tailgate and tail lights? Welding and wiring?
This is what i would have to do if I cut mine

You can search for a company called Torfab here. They have or had a superb version of what I was looking for at the time I posted.

Cool pics. I don't know squat about axle swaps and fabbing up bracketry so...I had no idea you could mount a shock to a lower link! Does that do anything to handling or ride quality?

I have a few more noob questions if you have some spare time to reply:

- If I wanted to keep an eye out for a junkyard 60, what specific makes/models should I be looking for?
- Do you run these at standard width or are they cut down with custom length shafts? How much wider than stock would it be?
- What brackets/hangers have to fabricated vs bought from a place like Ruff Stuff?
- Gearing - getting ready to install 5.29s. Are there gearing options for a 60 that match the rear, or do you need to swap both axles at once?
- Any other conversion parts that need to be addressed - steering, brakes, driveshafts, frame-side panhard mount?

Thanks!
The early Bronco are set up that way form the Factory. The front suspension on them is the same basic design as the 80 LC

Just Read your hole thread. Very entertaining!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thanks. i got it all back together months ago but just havent had time to take it out yet so no real updates on how it works now. i can definitely tell that its geared lower just running up and down the driveway but unfortunately thats all my truck has seen in over a year lol. i have missed 4-5 rides with my usual group due to work and family stuff but im hoping to get out pretty soon now that im working close to home.

good afternoon,

so i missed it, what gears did you the 3 to 1?

You have a black box or some other gear reduction don't you... something like wrench has or just the 25% low & 10% high gear set in Tcase?
Sorry I didn't have time to read all 20 pages to find out.
Luv this build.

finally made it out on a wheelin trip yesterday. the slight gear ratio change from the high range gears does more than it sounds like it would. definitely needed less throttle input to get up over things than previously and spent a lot more time in 3rd cruising the access roads. didnt get many pics because i hadnt been out for 2 years and was too busy wheeling lol.

on another note, anyone had much experience with fuel boiling in the tank? i was fighting that yesterday
