i am about to do a SAS for a friend using a Minitruck Toyota Axle.. I am assuming i can cut and turn the nuckles the same as a land cruiser axle..

Am i assuming corectly?

other question is what size is the mini Ring.. is it 7.5 or 8..

Axle came off of an 84 4x4 minitruck

Trevor

Don't know on the cut and turn.

The ring size is 8". 7.5" is used in the IFS housing. Pirate has a nice FAQ that's worth reading for the details on axles and gears.

its going on an Isuzu Pickup Truck.. It looked to me that it wasent going to need the turn (still havent cut off the ifs yet.., but i was going to see here first to see it was possible..

Not only is it possible... it is very doable ;)

I have dones several Cut/Turns for mini-truck guys... They have all turned out great. Many time the mini-trucks/4Runners have a long enough driveline to get away with a bad angle, BUT... a cut & turn gets the pinion out of the rocks and improves the handling of the vehicle (by turning up the caster for the bigger tires.)

I've learned something new everyday on this site. :)

i dont think you will have to cut and turn.....

the mini is already spring over the axle

i just read the tech article on 4x4 wire and i didnt have any of those problems although my pinion angle is about the same

have fun grinding!!

Has anyone cut and turned an 80 series housing?
Sean.

haven't heard of any 80-turns but the process is identical to everything else.....design-wise, they are the same.
