Our brackets will be pre-drilled to accept a variety of aftermarket seats, including Corbeau, Sparco, Recaro, Cobra, etc. Along with room to drill for custom fitments, however our brackets do require us to add mounts specific to the BMW seats as the slides on those seats are very far apart. If you plan on using those seats please let me know when you order.Torfab has brackets already to go for installing BMW seats into 60's.
We are working on it as we speak, both early and late 60-series trucks.I'm interested too. Early FJ60 here.
Would also like a driver seat rail for FJ62.
We have a lot of seats available but are focusing on Scheel-Mann right now. See our 80-series post for pics and PM me for pricing and options. These are brand new in the US so there isn't a ton of info out yet.I would be interested in early brackets and some pricing on seats.
Count me in.
There is definitely a seat upgrade in my future, so I am interested in an early 60 set.
I will need seats at some point, I'm interested
@SeattleFJs do you need an early 60 (83)to help with the bracket fabrication? I'll donate mine for a week to help get the project going. I'm motivated to get new seats in.
Will keep you guys posted. The seat bracket with extended slides sound like a great option. Will look forward to seeing the final product.
I'm in Seattle and have a 1988 FJ62. I have the front and rear seats (and hardware) out of a Discovery II. I think your front brackets might help me.
Do you think you might be able to help me figure out how to get the rear seats in?
I also can come by to allow you to measure.
This is really timely because I'm sick of those seats taking up room in the garage while my back aches from the stock seats.
Thanks,
Ara
Jamesg is interested as well, put me down. I am also looking to reupholster or replace the front seats in my LX450. Thanks
I have the leather PT Cruiser seats now but eventually I want a seat that is two inches longer front to rear as well as wider on the main cushion. Other than that they are fine Both fronts are heated and the drivers has electric height adjustment. It was easy to wire it all up, slam dunk. Must use a bit of caution though as there are air bags built into the seat and you want to make sure which wires go to those and tape them up so you don't inadvertently blow them up by misapplying 12volts. Beware of seat bottoms that have huge bolsters, especially if you have a large lift, they will interfere with ingress and egress.Put me down for a set for an early series set (84) also, providing they'll work with Volvo V70 seats.
A question for those of you who've swapped to modern seats: were you able to wire the seats to utilize all of the functions (heat, lumbar adjustment, etc)? I'm sure it's not a plug and play proposition, since the seat harness incorporates the air bag wiring.
I would be in on some extended slide seats for a 62.
