The 6.2 came with a block heater- I drilled a hole and used a marine grade water proof shore plug in the fron number to secure the 115v cord connection

That is one nice shop floor. Exceptionally clean.

Epoxy floor with color chips. God help you if you drop a washer or small part. But the oil leak on this floor is really really easy to clean up - just wipe up- not residual or staining. I do need to take care with sharp impingement items like uncovered jack stands

how did you paint your front trim pieces black? just sand and spray?

I had those done when I had the truck painted- sanded, primed & painted. All the trim was done - door handles, side vets, etc. The rocker panel trim piece was removed and the holes welded and filled. I also had the rear tailgate modified by removing the license plate inset to make room for tailgate storage using the WagonGear panel

The look is clean and more of the California style pickup tailgate

That gate looks so much different with the license area taken out.

I painted some trailer floors with that same paint and flecks added. Didn't hold up to well for daily heavy use.

I think we both had / have the same idea in mind on the truck mods and restore. I did many of the same things.

What brand are the lights mounted in the upper hatch access panels? And did you run the power wire through the rubber elbow into the upper body?

Here is what I had done on the front seats. Has held up well. Also has new SOR foam on the bottoms.

And added headrests on the rear seat. Funny how I can't find pictures when I need them. Wagongear seatbox and cruiser crap console.

Jfnall- i do not know the make on the lights. I think I got those from GAry at Mudrack. I did a number of variation back there before I land on this final version- I had a separate battery pack with, like 6 AA batteries, then I wired to the stock wire harness. Now I have them wired to the auxiliary power circuit through the rubber elbow up along the headliner and over to the drive side quarter panel aux fuse box on a "Light" circuit

I also have been thinking thru ideas on the ol' interweb and went to the Icon website. First to just drewl, then I realized that the Icon approach pretty much encompasses the idea of modernizing classic vehicles- especially crusiers and was thinking this sort of thing would just be awesome in my own rig

I wonder how much of my right arm it would take to get this look going in the ol' cruiser. Or Icon has the schweeet '52 Chevy PU resto mod interior with the buffalo hide and aluminum thing going all on:

My interior was trashed when I bought the vehicle. I had to go completely custom, but I tried to match the "spirit" of the original interior. A few things you can see in the pictures:

• Seats and door cards re-covered in leather, attempting to match the patters of the original cloth. They even covered the shift knob and the steering wheel. Also new headliner and ew carpet (they used glue-down carpet that looks nice, but I do not expect it to hold up like the original). I had this all done while living overseas, so it was much cheaper than if I had it done in the US I'm sure.
• NOS OEM dash pad. This was a splurge, but made a huge difference in the "new" feeling of the interior.
• I replaced the center console with a Tuffy Box. And I know it is probably heresy, but I compromised the security aspect of the Tuffy by cutting a hole to mount a switch plate for my exterior LED switches and USB chargers. I mounted it on top of the heater using the existing brackets, and added an additional Tuffy cupholder on the back.

I'm really happy with the way it turned out! (And my apologies for the pics, she needs a good vacuuming!)

I really like the leather upgrade- this is sweet. Can you provide more detail on the headliner? Any shots of the plastic covers(i.e. Seat belt covers on the B pillar and the rear quarter panel "surrounds around the rear windows?

Thanks! There's really not much to share re: the headliner. I told the guys to find a headliner material similar to the original (which was still in place, but sagging and torn in some places), and they were able to match it pretty closely. Also, I used ALL of the original plastic bits-- if anything was cracked or gnarly looking, I just trimmed it up with shears or a file. With all the fabric/leather new around it, I really don't notice any imperfect plastic at all (and I thought I would).

Have you looked at newer vehicles (Toys & others) for things that you want, or looks that you like? In the Fords I've built, I've managed to fit many of the new features to some really-old vehicles. A '75 with tlt/cruise/PW/PL/PAnt/RDef/RKE/remote start/EFI; an '83 with most of that & automatic headlights, dimming compass RV mirror, signal heated side mirrors, door keypad, 1KW inverter, 1-touch windows, projector headlights, cornering lights, FMHD/BT/Sirius/aha/etc. radio, a dehumidified security vault that's not apparent (in addition to the factory floor console & glove box), & several USB power points; and a '93 I'm working on now with most of that, F&R parking sensors, front DVR, backup camera, & power-adjustable pedals whose memory is linked to the power heated signal memory mirrors & power heated memory seats via the RKE. They all use factory upholstery that matches within each vehicle, but not from the same kind of vehicle.

So look around & let your imagination run wild. What do YOU want to see in your truck?

That's a Pioneer NEX 4100. I really like it for the most part. It was an easy install, Android Auto works great, and it handles my front and rear cameras well. However, I can't get the screen to flip up without modifying the dash bezel, which i haven't convinced myself to do yet. It's only a problem if you want to insert a CD or SD card. Because of that, I have to disassemble the dash to upgrade the radio firmware -- not ideal!
