Hi Dom. I’d love to buy a pair of your striker plates that will enable me to put newer 75+ doors on my 72 FJ-40. Could you message me or anyone else that has these striker plates - thanks

Someone needs to do the opposite. I’ve got 74 doors on a 76 tub.

I bought a few sets of these and still have some. I am not looking to sell any, but if someone has access to a machine shop that can make them, I am happy to help with getting them one to make more.

I have always figured that for relatively small 2D parts it would be easier to drop them on a photo copier and then send the paper in the mail. Could probably scan and email them so long as you also have a ruler or tape in the scan to ensure the “transporter” doesn’t shrink or enlarge them,

Bet a data file for a 3D printer could also work… but I’ve not messed with that sort of thing yet.

That’d be much trickier. Ideally one would 3D print a prototype, and then cast or machine the actual part. Investment Casting would be the ideal… except you’d have to cash in your life savings to have them cast in that way.

My wish would be for images or actual strikers for 1974+/- hatch strikers. I’ve got a couple 1” thick x 4” diameter Delrin off cuts (pucks) that I’m going to make some out of (eventually). Maybe even door strikers for the front doors. Delrin is likely strong enough. I’m starting to wonder if PLA-pro (or other similar filament would work.

Thinking more about it, I may use a combination of steel and Delrin to have the strikers as bulletproof as the rest of the truck.

I just bought some cheapie ambulance door strikers and ground to fit. I think the “ramp rate” is too high. You’ve got to put a quarter turn on the door handle to close the door. Latches solidly though.

I’d rather fabricate from scratch than have to turn the handle every time I close it. The only unknown variable right now is Delrin, steel, or Aluminum. Leaning towards Delrin, steel rusts but I can weld it, and I don’t have a thick enough chunk of aluminum.

So I bought a set of these from @matzell ,Rob asked if I could make a set of these from Dom’s design. I drew up a set in Autodesk Fusion360 and they are as close to the original design as I could get. This set was cut from 3/16” plate steel, sandblasted and ready to go.

First set went to @gedward , sold at the same price Dom was selling them for.
