Those portal lifts are damn expensive for minimal gear reduction. Great idea though.

Well I've seen a few Can Am Commanders come through with 10k and running strong, I don't ever deal with Polaris so I can't really comment but some of these high mile UTVs are doing pretty well. Not so much the Arctic Cats though. I'd stay away from the Wild Cats, whoever was interested in those. With the higher mileage Arctic Cats you see a lot of wheel bearings, seals, etc etc They tend to eat parts. Those Wild Cats eat engines too. Though the suspension is impressive. The Can Ams with 10k have a little bit of slop and maybe wear through a few parts but are holding up pretty damn well. If I ventured a guess, I'd say the rzr chassis will hold up pretty similarly. Either way... I was just curious, as you can put a lot of off road miles on a side by side in a hurry.
Sure, wanna run the con, bring the dog and the kids, a canoe, and drive straight home? Certainly, in a 40.
I'm not saying the RZR isn't capable, I see them on the trails up here all the time, but I'd rather have the comfort and capabilities of a true multipurpose rig than have to trailer this whole setup to the con just to have an interesting build.
Actually I was trying to point out the ridiculousness of creating an "overlander" out of a RZR.Whachu doing on here Brit?! I seriously can not wait to see this rig this weekend! It's the onliest reason I'm going to World of Wheels on Sunday! literally! This RZR is the baddest I've ever seen, and I've seen quite a few dozen very high dollar RZR's at races. But this one... I'd own.
I can't even try to compare a 40 to a RZR, because the only thing they have in common is 4 tires. I see your sigline, so I know you're aware how capable your hunnerd series is and can go as far if not farther than the 40 if you don't mind a lil body damage, and that hunnerd is MUCH more comfortable. 40's are not even close to riding down a trail in confort over a RZR... not even close. To make that statement means the person has never ridden down a trail, in a RZR, going 60mph, smiling, with @wngrog driving.
Anyway, Im pretty sure the OP checked out of here.
