I'm sure I could somehow decipher through fifty pages of posts to find a link to the currently best working version of Techstream, but would someone be kind enough to point me to a known good current download? I was running something like 12.20.XXX but that version was missing the update/customize/programming button (or whatever its called). So what I'm really looking for is a version with that functionality.

That’s an install issue vs a version issue. If it’s read only the install needs to be fixed. Sadly the fix is usually very specific and unique and could be all kinds of things. I had an install like this and it ended up being the the driver signing for the mvci. But it could really be lots of things.

Thanks for the reply, but ugh! How different could the install be? It's a virgin XP session. Simply a matter of letting the install wiz do its thing, right?

Let's start with a simple baseline. What version are you using and do you have a link to your install package? I'll start with creating a new VM instance and install that package afresh.

Also, how could you tell it was driver related? The XHorse MVCI tool shows that it is working and the Techstream connects and reads properly. Is there a preferred driver package that I should be chasing instead?

I’m on 14.00.018, but in a dedicated windows 10 home partition on a dedicated MacBook, not on a VM.

The iteration of VCXNano I got came with this software and a “Toyota launcher” that must be run before techstream to reset the license. Toyota launcher causes the windows antivirus to freak out but I reinstated the quarantined files and so far no issues… I think this has to do with the permissions needed to reset the license.

There wasn’t a way to tell if it was a good install or not except that the app itself allowed write actions. In particular for me it was update of the Tpms sensor ids.
I don’t have the version info handy, but I’m on a virtual install on a MacBook. The experience I relate was a different install on a win7 laptop.
