wussies! :)

Dave, I can also offer up my LCD in the truck to play your vids in heated comfort...and in surround sound! I have RCA jacks, etc built in. ;)

im thinking my 36 LCD may make it into the fj for the trip, might as well use that inverter in the fj...

I won't be there but I can offer this on the movie. I have seen it and it's something that I would OK with watching in the woods. This isn't Blair Witch kind of horror. It's more kitchy (sp?), funny, cultish, head bashing, silly horror. Watch the trailer and see what you think. http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/film/1507

Fine, you don't do horror. No worries. That doesn't mean what you do has to apply to the rest of the group.

Marshall didn't ask you to be in charge (or maybe you volunteered, dunno) of the camping group so that you could assert your likes and dislikes on the entire group.

This isn't Erskine 4Wheel Club where you're the adult and there are a bunch of kids under your rule. ;)

I dunno what half of this means, but I agree with the concept.

Dave, if you bring the LCD we can setup in a way that is not "in the face" of anyone wanting to hang out quietly in the woods, similar to what Marshall and JP, etc did to watch the game on the balds with a satellite dish :D This may mean we plan for another fire to the duration of the movie so we can all stay warm.

ALright, alright, alright. I'm gone three days without internet and everyone starts getting into it.

I'm the captain of this ship. I've got 10 pm's to go through and about a hundred post in UC to read. SO I'm keeping this short.

Keep it civil.

Be friendly

A big screen is fine to bring and if you want to watch a movie, sports of whatever is fine with me. Just don't plan on watching it the whole time (like we did last time) These are trips for us to enjoy and hang around friends and talk. Keep media as far away from the camping fire area as possible. And try to watch something that everyone would enjoy. Don't plan on doing it the whole time and if possible keep any Cruiser content in mind.

One thing that bothered me at Tellico was the type of movies we watched. I liked them but I could see where some wouldn't. SO if you bring something like a movie to watch and it's not cruiser related make sure it's something everyone would like.

I just got my approval off work.......I'm stoked and ready for some cruiser action!!!!!!!!:bounce:

*puts the midget porn away*

OK, so I'll take the beating for "50 Nuts". It wasn't as "harmlessly funny" as I remember, it's been a while since I last saw it.

And while the juxtaposition of watching a movie on top of a mountain is cool... I'm really going on this trip to wheel and camp. Tellico was about living it up in a swanky cabin. Cullowhee is about the beauty and awe of the mountains for me.

Just my $0.02.

Updated excerpt from post #1

Update 2/15: WE ARE MEETING AT THE PARK ADJACENT TO THE BP AT HIGH NOON ON FRIDAY.
Longs/Lats for the BP: N35° 17.820' W83° 8.714'

If coming from Sylva/Webster, the BP is about 7 miles southeast of the Hwy 116 intersection.
If coming from Cashiers/Glenville, it's about 3 miles from the intersection of Hwy 281.

I am volunteering to do pancakes & sausage patties Saturday morning for all campers.

Does anyone want to volunteer to do Breakfast on Sunday morning?

Oh and I'm pretty effen excited about this trip. :bounce: The current forecast looks warmer than usual!

I talked with JP about the trails Sat. He suggested the camping group do the trails up to the bald and camp Friday night. We (the Cabin group will get up Saturday morning and drive up to the bald via the easy route. Where we can have an early lunch. If we left the cabin around 9 we should be at the bald by at leat 11. Then those that wanted to camp could do so and do the trails and those that want to come back to the cabin could do so.

My thought for the camping group is to do a reverse of the last trip we did.
The cabin group would do the easy trail to the bald and then decide how whether we want to back track or go down the harder way.

Just so we all know that there is no trail in Cullowhee that doesn't have some small limps hanging out in the trail. There will be some east coast pinstriping. But nothing that couldn't be buffed out. The trails for the camping group will be harder and if you decided to take them realize that you might get some dings and dents. We had very few problems last time.

I'm planning on the cabin group staying out about 4 hrs round trip with about half of that being on gravel and dirt roads. Plan on packing a lunch for Sat on the bald. When we get back to the cabin I would like to take some vehicles and explore the trails above the Cabin.

I'll be riding with Chuck this coming weekend. We are hoping to get up to meet the camping group before they hit the trails on Friday and go over the trail maps and plan of action. Then we will go to the cabin and wait on the rest of the group.

Anybody bringing firewood?
I won't do that but I can bring a chainsaw and splitter for deadfall.

My forecast currently has 58/38/58 w/ 50% rain Sat-Sun.
I'm leaning toward camping Sat and perhaps somewhat more interesting trails.
You will be trailing Sun right? Or is it strike and bail on Sunday like Tellico?

well we won't be teleporting off the mountain. But seriously, I dont' know the exact route out yet. We will discuss upon arrival at the BP. Last time did invole some mild wheeling to get back to civilization. Mostly sloppy wet trails, but nothing a stock FJ couldn't handle.

I will bring my chainsaw as well. I will take up bfast on Sunday morning. Will bring bacon and eggs.

Looks like the truck will be ready... Thur at 5:00... in a nick of time to pack!

I need an address for where we are meeting for the caravan on Fri AM... or Dan, if it's on the way, just stop by and I'll have some coffee waiting.

And... stay tuned just in case the Thur delivery goes phffffft....
