OK I am back on here. :) Our trip went well I am still working on a post to put up about it with pictures. (Trying to make it a good story so its takign a little while.)

I will keep JP's tradition alive and nbring Rotel Dip for the camping group!!!
I have to get a few issues workedout on my 62 b/f I can make it as well. The one that I have to work out that I am a little worried about is its overheating at idle but up at speed it does fine.

I will be camping in the truck, I have asked my wife about comming, but we are trying to figure something out with the girls.

I head up through Anderson, Clemson and Wallhala up 28 then over to 107 if anyone wants to caravan or just follow me up.

What campsite do we want to camp at the first night? The lower site by the river, which is up the end of Caney Fork is easiest to get in and out of. But we shoudl be able to make it up to the top bald in 2hrs from the BP. There is another bald that our Erskine group camped on that was fine as well thats a little bit lower.

Matt, I'm going to leave the routing up to you. While I do have maps, I can't place where we camped last time I was there, or which route we took to get there. Once we meet up at the BP, you can provide a better sense of direction for me and then I'll be golden.

Is everyone good on FRS radios or CBs? I have two radios and my CB is now installed. I can loan one of my radios out if its needed.

I don't think the Coleman stove I inherited is NOT working, so I'm just bringing my single burner b'packer stove. I actually like ramen noodles!

overheating at idle is fan clutch almost certainly....air flow issue, not water

overheating FJC, still a mystery.

yes apparently i'm the only in the SE area w/ this problem. I won't take up space here but I'll post up a link later, explaining the ongoing issue.

Go to this link over on the FJCForums and start with post #55...when the saga began.

I've got a replacement fan clutch on order with the dealer (warranty item), but it's a guessing game at this point.

Update...

Well, Leigh is in California right before this trip, so I am either going to stay in the cabin and camp the next night, or I am going to not go at all. I haven't decided yet, but the 23rd weekend is the first one when both of us don't have kids. I will update this when I make a decision.

Matt,

I'll meet you in Anderson(do you come down Belton Hwy??) on the trip out. It will be cool to see two 62's in carvan bouncing down clemson blvd.:)

Yeah that should work. When the days get closer lets both try and contact each other.

Sounds good......still gotta few weeks to get things in order and the cruiser ready for the trip. About how long does it take to get up there?

it should take you guys roughly some where between 2-3 hours to get there........ it isn't a bad trip at all

have I mentioned yet that I am jealous of you guys????

Confirmed. I am going. Will stay in cabin on Friday, camp Saturday night.

I need to boogie early Sunday...anyone else needing to bolt early so I am not solo on the way out?

Should take about 2.5 hrs from Due West. "Should" after the most recent things on my cruiser there is no telling how long it might take.

I have to figure out something with the wheel hop/death wobble I got going on! Hit a bumper going over 45 and it feels like tfront end is going to fall off, I hop eI didnt screw anything up doing the front axle rebuild.

sounds like shocks maybe?

LOL, ask JP! :)

Would running none make that an issue :) :bounce: :)
Yeah, what Dan said. See below...Sorry to bring up bad memories JP.
