No worries, Gehn. We go frequently, maybe you can join us next time.

At least you have your priorities in line. I can barely remember those days!! :D

Andy, you are going to be ashamed of me, but i just pulled my fly rod down for the first time in 2 years. Orvis rod and reel, with line dry rotted, my waders are moldy and dry rotting, my forcepts (think that's what you call them, to use to pull the fly from deep witin the trout) is gone missing, probably used for other purposes, my sportsman license is 1 year expired. ISUCK.com is where i should be. That's just sad considering i used to fish at school at least 3 days a week.

Cool, I'm right behind you. Any last minute additions? More fishermen = more fish for din-din!! :D

I have a cruiser meeting to attend tomorrow. Sometimes I wish was was out on the trail. But not everyone can or wants to do that. I would like to hang out and talk with some of the criuser club who don't make the wheeling trips. They are just as important.

well I will be doing both, so ha :flipoff2: :D......................I do have to say the commment above comes off a little condescending, I don't know if that is the intent or not??

Sour grapes time, Marshall?? :grinpimp:

Due to positive changes in your life, you can't make any of these recent rides if you wanted to right now anyway (conflicting club meeting or not)...

If (and that's a big if since that doesn't seem to be your style) that comment was pointed at me, know that I do understand the importance of the meetings and would REALLY like to get to more but can't / don't as a result of the distance - when I have limited chances to hit the road and burn some serious petrol and travel a few hundred miles, being in the woods / in the stream takes precedence over meeting at a restaurant sourounded by pavement.

It's a situation of limited cycles and maximizing my personal time. The Barley's meeting was cool and if there are future ones scheduled with more acitivities involved than eating at a Sonic (though I know this is club tradition), I could better justify the resource (time, money, wear on the cruiser) expenditure.

Not at all. It was not intended to be directed at any one person. Andy I know your distance is an issue. Especially driving all this way just to hang out for a couple of hrs. Heck I wouldn't do it. But you have, more times than I can remember. It's people like you and John (informationjunky) and Alex and all the rest of the Upstate cruisers that are a long way from our central location that make myself and other club members realize we really have a good thing going.

I have always preached that we need to stick with our monthly meetings. Keep them consistant and in different location so we can keep members on the finges involved. But wheeling is not what the club is entirely about. It's only part. The monthly meeting of cruiserheads is just as important if not more.

I think it's fine going wheeling on a weekend and not making a Sat meeting. But we are a group and in my opinion need to stay as a group. Inviting people to go somewhere else on a weekend we already have something planned just doesn't make sense. It only splits us up.

I have no control over what the club does as I'm not an officer. But I do have an opinion. As your friend I hope everyone understands that.

.

Okay that deserves a :flipoff2:

I might not be able to make trail rides any time soon. Since my wife is due in 12 days! (crap thats soon)
But I still am able to make monthly meeting, help a member of the month and trash detail (well maybe not this time). They all involve hanging out with cruiserheads.

I'll be drinking:beer: tonight looking at my pregnat wife and wishing I was sitting in front of a fire talking about cruisers.

Man i feel some hostililty in the upstate threads lately. I think we all need a "joint" trail ride :)

Anyways, i really wish i could come on the trip. I was just thinking and talking to some friends last night in trying to get another cullowhee trip scheduled for warm weather. I do wish that (and i'm going to be putting my ass on the line with this comment) people would actually get together more for trail rides rather than just talk about cruisers on the net and at meetings. I am kinda preaching here because i have been having a tough time getting funds together for trail rides myself.

Would anyone be opposed in trying to schedule a cullowhee trip at the same time as GSMTR? That way if you couldn't afford the dues at GSMTR or didn't want to wheel hard core, we could camp, fish, swim, tube in cullowhee instead. Just a thought.

LOL! :flipoff2: :grinpimp:

No hostilities here by any stretch. Was really just giving you props for an exciting time in your life dude, you're a lucky guy for sure. 12 days!! :bounce:

One of the reasons I really like this club is the quality of the people that make it up. I've made what I consider to be friends in a short amount of time - people in this club are good people it seems to me, and those types are hard to find IMO.

Your points are all sound and understood, Marshall - and, I agree 100%. I was president of my fraternity in school for a couple of years and while not even close to the same, I battled the meeting vs. fun time agenda for most of my tenure. I agree that like wheeling, regular monthly meetings are a tie that continues to bind the group together and have to continue to happen for the club's health and benefit.

I'll be at more meetings, would be happy to host one up this way like David just did and wasn't attempting to undermine this one. I wouldn't have been there no matter what (previously explained) and JP is still going to make it so all is good. And, if it makes you feel any better, I'll drink a few  in your honor tonight!!

Alex - I'd be game for another Cullowhee run for the folks that aren't going to make GSMTR. I wasn't planning on going to GSMTR anyway, my next Tellico trip will most likely be in August if UC does that again.

Oh yeah, you should ante up the whole $10 and send Mary Hardin a check for your 1 year UC membership!!! :flipoff2: UC could always use more quality members and you'd be an asset to the club.

Fixed it for ya' :flipoff2:

Yes, i will anty up. Do i get a sticker?

meet vs fish

Now boys. Settle down. I wish ya'll could make tomorrow nights meeting
and all non attendees will be missed. LOL...that'd be MOST of the club at most meetings.
Meetings are important and necessary to conduct business of the club.
The BOD will be at Sonic. No don't go making fun of meeting at Sonic.
Attend or not as a member choice. Fine either way. Dogging club meeting spot
is in poor taste.
Ya'll have fun and catch some fish and knock back a few for me.
You are going to miss a special club meeting. Sonic and the FJC
meet Gundy. Pics to follow along with my scathing reviews of
the little whipper snapper. Fine cigars too.
Who does what ain't an Upstate Cruiser thang.
See ya'll soon. At a trail or a mall nearby. :grinpimp:

Hello, Alex:

Yes, you do get a sticker and cards and the newsletter and updates and 25% off OEM parts and service. Pile that on top of a bunch of great fellers to hang out with and you have the Upstate Cruisers.

Welcome sir!
