Hello all,

I am helping out Wilma83 with the planning of the run, and with a lack of local knowledge, I need to open it up to a poll. It will be a day trip to start, but i ope to get some overnighters going aw well.

That said,

Date:
Saturday November 4
or
Sunday November 5

Trail:
Mt. Lemmon Control Road
or
Chimney Rock Trail
or
Italian Trap

Please reply to the poll, and also let me know what time you would want to meet/leave the trailhead.

I plan to leave this vote open until Wednesday, October 18. At that point I will take the choices and lay out the plan.

Just to note.. Italian trap was completed by a stock 4Runner with some spotting in a couple areas. Chimney rock is also fairly easy with options of harder wheeling at chimney rock itself, the mt Lemmon control road also easy and just a beautiful drive that can be followed up by lunch at summer haven.

Thanks Wilma, I have no knowledge of either of them, so I welcome the info.

Chimney Rock, Saturday is first choice, Sunday second.

I'd prefer a Saturday run, would probably try to combine in some camping as well.

Man.. I've been wanting to join a run down that way.. I'll be out of town that weekend.. :'(

Looks like it is going to be Chimney Rock on Saturday November 4th. Going once, going twice...........

I can't make a Saturday run, but can meet up for a Saturday overnight.

I'll join in the fun. Don't believe I've run this trail before. For those of you who have, how does it compare, difficulty wise, to Three Feathers? Did that in my GX last weekend..

It is very easy in comparison. Once you get to chimney rock is where you can make it as challenging as you want.

If you have any driver skill, Chimney is pretty easy. I've run it on pitch black nights and covered in snow. It's a nice run. It's also a popular deer hunt area. Keep your eyes peeled for quads and such.

I haven't gone offroad for the sake of offroad in a long time. I'm starting a new job soon and not sure of my schedule but put me in for a maybe.

Are you planning to run from the east end back toward Bellota Ranch? To me, thats the better run.

What are you going to be doing?

Costco, bakery monkey. It's a seasonal gig but I'm hoping to parlay it into full time. Brewing is slowly putting me in the poor house. I can't do it anymore. I've tried all the other breweries in town but no one needs me right now. Most are running on a pretty tight budget to begin with.
