looking for some input/knowledge of the access to the Verde river recreation area on the res. The area is where the Beeline crosses the verde - turning on the access road on the west side by the gas station there and heading South. My daughter and I went out there a few weeks ago and explored to gather information for one of her high school classes. (Got an "A" on it!)
Being that it was early in the am and by the river, it was decent but got very hot soon thereafter. We didnt see anyone else while we were there and we drove all the way down to where the road is gated at the confluence of the Salt and Verde rivers.
Is a permit required to travel, camp there? How does one obtain one - any experience there?
When my friends and I were teens, we would go party and swim at a place that was called 6 poles down this same road. We never got any hassle or had any impression we werent supposed to be there. I wouldnt mind going to some of these riverside camping areas that were actually pretty clean and had a trash barrel in each one of them. I just want to make sure no issues with the Rez police.
