Just watched American Sniper.
Wow..

Chris Kyle was a bad dude. I have a few people I know a few people who spent time with him and were mesmerized by him. The people who were mesmerized are not easily impressed. He had a mouth but he also knew what the mission was. Was all about protecting the "other guy"

I have Much respect for that man. Damn shame

If shipping was a killer that 2H and H55F would really interest me. Not sure I've seen many 60 series that had a vacuum operated transfer that didn't had a auto in front it. But haven't seen many 60 series from Canada.

There is also a guy, Sheldon I think is his name, goes by 70sguy who has a hand in diesel parts and sourcing. He is up in Canada and might be worth a PM.

Did anyone know the Land Cruiser F engine was produced under license from Chevrolet?!

From Wikipedia...

The F engine block, crankshaft and lower end assembly is loosely based on the 1939-63 G.M.C. L6 OHV 235 engine but with a taller deck (rather than the similar but smaller Chevrolet 1937-63 Gen-2 L6 OHV engine), and built under license. The cylinder head and combustion chamber is derived from the Chevrolet L6 OHV "stovebolt" engine, slightly scaled up. The general idea was consumers would feel comfortable with the engine since it was a familiar design and had a proven track record. None of the bottom end of the engine is interchangeable with these engines.

Not under license. Toyotas own proprietary design that is basically similar

I took some classes with Chris at the Craft. He would have made an excellent president, But all around a great guy.

looking for some input/knowledge of the access to the Verde river recreation area on the res. The area is where the Beeline crosses the verde - turning on the access road on the west side by the gas station there and heading South. My daughter and I went out there a few weeks ago and explored to gather information for one of her high school classes. (Got an "A" on it!)

Being that it was early in the am and by the river, it was decent but got very hot soon thereafter. We didnt see anyone else while we were there and we drove all the way down to where the road is gated at the confluence of the Salt and Verde rivers.

Is a permit required to travel, camp there? How does one obtain one - any experience there?

When my friends and I were teens, we would go party and swim at a place that was called 6 poles down this same road. We never got any hassle or had any impression we werent supposed to be there. I wouldnt mind going to some of these riverside camping areas that were actually pretty clean and had a trash barrel in each one of them. I just want to make sure no issues with the Rez police.

Yes i like sheep bridge too but for something much closer, I was intrigued with this area and the regulations involved.

Took this picture earlier this week, saw what looked to be a funnel cloud in the center of the frame.

Anyone else having problems creating threads today? I have tried from my Mac and PC and neither is allowing me to create new threads.
