From the videos seen from Middle East the second picture is pretty lame and could be driving with dad. Remember one changing the front tire while driving on two wheels. Pretty crazy stuff. Guess just driving around on sand dunes all day gets boring. Not sure if @Honger is familiar with these antics.

I've seen the two-wheel driving and they can get pretty elaborate with it. I've seen it mostly with 100-series and Nissan Patrols. I always wondered how they teach themselves... how many Cruisers get ruined until they can nail it. Then someone told me they practice on quads/ATV's until they get consistent at balancing.

I have seen the video of the tire change while driving on two wheels. I've also seen they videos of them shuffling people around by climbing out and back into the cars. Lots of skill...

Thinking it may be time to sell our home up north. Found there was a murder in the area. The murderer hide the body in a neighbor's yard.

The police were called (Game and Fish in this case) and removed the body. They said over the next few weeks to expect the murderer to return to the scene of the crime to recover the victim (prey).


We have squirrels, rabbits, chipmunks, deer elk in the area. We also have foxes, coyotes, hawks, lynx, black bears, javalina and in this case mountain lion. Number of people have game cameras in the area and the mountain lion has been photographed a number of times. Where the deer was found was fairly close to us. We have small dogs who are never allowed out of the fenced yard and we always go out with them at night. We keep up with the oak leaves and pine needles so doubt our property would be used to stash any prey. Did bury a dead rabbit a few years ago only to find it dug up and gone the next day.

It is just a big kitten, I would not worry about it. Seriously, if you are in cat country, this is to be expected. With the very dry summer, deer are moving to areas that are irrigated. The cats are not stupid and follow the food source. When I lived in Parks (west of Flag) we had a Lion that called our area part of his territory. I never seen him but neighbors did. They will stay away from multiple dogs but, single dogs are fair game.

There was a documentary about lions and wolves that was conducted in Montana. They found were the country was more open, wolves outnumbered the lions by a fare amount with wolves killing lions. In areas were it was more forested or canyon type country, they found lions were killing the wolves. In the dense forests and rugged terrain, wolves would not pack up, ones and twos were common, where the wolves travelled in packs, the lions didn't have a chance.

We had a couple of dogs as did the neighbors. Never had a problem with losing one...

I would be interesting to see what is lurking out there in the dark. Ever consider one of those trail cameras? I know I have, we have had Gatos in the hood in the past and missing Chihuahuas and goats.
Came face to face with a big raccoon bounding down the driveway in the moonlight while walking to the truck one morning, fun stuff...

I called AutoZone to see if they have any 1/2" heater hose in stock. The person who answered the phone told me they don't have any heater hose. I told him he was wrong, he then told me 1/2" is too big. I asked to speak with another person and he didn't allow that.

.38 special is adequate for a cat. 10mm is WAY overkill, pardon the pun. Neighbor was a guide on lion hunts for years and worked radio collating for Game and Fish. When I specifically asked him what is adequate he showed what he carried, an old S&W .38 special.

I knew several lion and bear guides when I lived in Flagstaff. Cats are not big of tough animals, you don't need a lot of gun to stop them. A bear of the same size will take a lot more lead than a cat.

On a side note, one of the guides had found a mountain lion kitten once. The mother had been hit by a car. He took it home and raised it. As it grew, it would constantly pounce on him while playing. Sometimes waiting on the roof of his home until he arrived from work. He had to give it up because his wife was going blind, presumably from the stress of having the cat play with him. Said giving up the cat was the hardest thing he had ever done. This from one of the toughest men I ever knew, second only to my grandfather who was courted by Al Capone to join his organization but, that is another story...

Knew from the start it was a big cat kill. Kind of felt sorry Game and Fish hauled of his kill off. Deer was already dead and no human was going to eat it. Well aware this is lightly populated area especially fall thru early spring when part timers and weekenders are in the valley. Sadly have fallen into that group this year. The FB group for area is showing how the neighborhood is over run with elk right now.
