What's the biggest off-road tire that can fit on a stock 200? I have 275 (E-load) BFG All-Terrains on the 4Runner. They've been great on trails, although I suspect they're a big reason why my MPGs suck.

I know a full 33" x 10.5" fits without rubbing on my truck. My next set will be 34" if I don't life it at all because I'm fairly certain that fit fit without rubbing if I don't increase the width.

I got a decent offer for the 4Runner by the way, so I'm getting closer to pulling the trigger on a LC. In the meantime I've been looking at the classifieds here and am seriously considering this: https://forum.ih8mud.com/uzj100-lx470/748293-2006-lx470-clean-lifted.html

1. The high (?) mileage. I'm only at 10K on the 4Runner which is worth the same as the asking price on the LX.

That mileage is really not that high for the 100 series platform.

2. The price. I searched locally and found multiple stock LXes of the same year or newer, with fewer miles (80K +) for between $18-21K. Are the mods worth that much?

In my opinion, the price (even at the lowered price) is a bit high. Someone will likely eventually pay him that much, but I think he is $6K or so over the market.

As for the rig, the 100 and 200 series are different animals. I loved my 100 and hated to see it go. It was setup much like the one in the link, but was a 2006 LC without AHC. I would suggest that you drive a 100 and a 200 to see the differences for yourself.

My $0.02

I'll definitely have to do that.

I've got 275-70 R18's on stock, and I can tell you that if you go even a quarter inch more in width or height ya better get a lift or your sawsall out, or maybe even both:)

A while ago i tested if Maxxis Buckshot LT305/70R17 will fit my stock 17x8" alloys but there was a like a finger space from UCA and obvious rub to the front. However they fit just fine in my friend's Lc200, who's got stock Toyota steel rims (17x7). We are both running OME 2".

Pic is from my 17" alloys with Maxxis, didn't even lower the wheel after noticing the obvious rub n UCA clearance

285-70/17 seems to be the best size for my rim size.

That's so funny - I PMed the owner earlier today. Hoping to check it out this Saturday.

I also got an offer of $60,709 for a demo 2013 with 16,260 miles on it from a local dealership. It's Pearl White with black interior.

Also, I finally sold the 4Runner today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That one has been demo'd pretty hard! I am at 11 months of ownership and I have not put quite that many miles on mine ... But the color combo is what I have. Really wanted a Salsa Red one, but SE Toyota apparently does not order any in that color.

One thing to think about is the black interior. I came from a tan one in my '06 and chose black because the tan stained so easily. The black has its own set of issues and is a bit harder to keep clean on the surface. If I had it to do over, I'd probably opt for the tan interior rather than the white one .....

Apparently they sell LCs used by dealership owners and/or GMs as "demos". It seems every dealership around here has one.

Interesting comment on the seat color. I have three kids (7,5, and 3) and have reservations about the 2008 Maujkar provided a link to due to the tan/beige interior. Mind you, I haven't seen it yet, but I had a BMW with tan interior and didn't like it too much. I guess I'll have to see.

According to Truecar, that $60,709 deal is a steal. Any thoughts?

I'm also curious to hear thoughts about the differences between the 08-12s vs. the 13s.

I also went from a tan interior on my last one to a black interior, I think the black looks better, but I do have to agree with your post about it having it's own set of issues, the small holes in the seats love to hold all kinds of stuff, nothing a shop vac can't get rid of... I would still go with black over tan, but both show the dirt... The 2013 is worth the extra coin for me, the interior has some extra bells and whistles, the crawl mode has more speeds and the offroad turn assist really works... Plus ya get more aggressive sheet metal etc... just my 2 cents

Yes, both colors have their issues. With 3 kids, I think the probablility of staining is pretty good for either.

We have three cats that shed like crazy (redundant, I know :meh: ). Since they all three have a lot of white hair, it is painfully noticable on the black interior panels. :whoops:

I would think that the price would have a thou or two left in it. In my area, that would represent about 13% depreciation over what a new 2013 can be had for (with some haggling).

Thanks! I have to say I'm drained though. The whole decision-selling-buying process was stressful. Having said that, however, we are all super excited - my wife loves it, the kids...can't wait for the first road trip. Now I have to find a good shop in SoCal to do a lift, wheels, and tires.

I'll do a search tomorrow, but if anyone has suggestions for a mild lift (2") and good wheel/tire combo, I'm all ears. I'd like the ride to be as close to stock as possible but we do tow a pop-up camper and have plans for aftermarket bumpers eventually. A local shop suggested OME heavy lift, some kind of black wheels (I don't remember which - it was a phone conversation and I hadn't actually purchased the Cruiser yet), and Toyo Open Country tires. The quote was for $3K. The guy was pretty excited - said he's been waiting to do a 200 series for a while.

Trd rims and bfg 285's

You may look at just changing the shocks to billsteins.
Mine rides great with factory suspension in that setup but I'm going the king coil route in a few weeks

The weight of the bumper actually improved the ride a bit.

Thank you. She's a beauty indeed. Now off to figure everything out - it's like an airplane cockpit.

I would go for the Old Man Emu route if you just want a basic 2' lift. However, I would not suggest getting the sport shocks, just go with the regular ones or the ride will be pretty harsh.

If you want to spend a little more, definitely look at the Radflo front coilovers and rear struts. However, there's really no need for the external reservoirs outside of the bling factor IMHO.
