Thx. Took a bunch out, eh. I did a hack job...way less than that, but my wheels are only 12 offset, not 18. And my tires are just shy of 33".

Forgot to ask, no issues rubbing in the back once you took the mudflaps off?

Mudflaps are still on the back.

I haven't noticed any. I'll let you know if anything develops.

Here are my top three reasons why I'm thrilled with the switch to the LC:

1. No more listening to the kids fighting with the third row.
2. Hand calculated 20.16 mpg hwy after lift and tires! (beats the best I got in the 4Runner trail by over 3 mpg)
3. King of the road!!!

I hope that is accurate. The only way I can get close to 20MPG is by going 50MPH on cruise control. I'm fairly certain I lost 1-2 MPG with my roof rack.
I get 12 MPG in mixed driving (1/2+ highway). On the toll roads at 85 MPG/cruise, I get 12MPG as well. Still love the truck...I just don't expect to ever get 20+ MPG in a Land Cruiser until the next version with a hybrid diesel hits.

I get around 16mpg on average, would love to get 20+ mpg in this new 300 series "hybrid diesel" you speak of:)???

Hybrid diesel unibody/roll cage independent sus all around with 35" tires 700hp 550tq stock baja cruiser. Seats 8 comfortably and get 28mpg city/35mpg hwy.

I think I should do a hand calculation...I show 13mpg avg.

Am I doing this wrong?

I pulled off the freeway to fill up. Mileage was 16,763. Merged back onto the freeway and drove home. The next morning was curious about "MPGs since last fill up" which was showing 19.6.

Drove to gas station and topped off. It took 3.918 gallons to do so. Mileage at that time was 16,842.

My Math:

842 - 763 = 79 miles travelled

79 miles travelled divided by 3.918 gallons = 20.1633486 miles per gallon

Of the 79 miles, 74 were strictly freeway with just one stretch of bumper-to-bumper (maybe 3 miles). I kept it between 60 - 65 mph and was probably in the green ECO zone 80% of the time.

Anyhow, my point was that selling the Trail Edition 4Runner and buying a 200 series LC was the right decision. Just to give closure to the question that started the thread.

:beer::beer: you forgot to add how much more badass the Cruiser looks than the 4Runner!!!

I came from trail edition 4runner to LC200 like you, and yes, it was the right thing to do...especially with 3 kiddies. You are a good father, just tell your wife you are doing this all for her and the kids. When I ordered UCAs, got a lift, new wheels and tires, tinted the truck and installed new bigger brakes, it was all for my wife and kids too . If I can only convince her that a supercharger would make her life worlds better...

I think your logic is fine. Your numbers are suspect at the pump. The ECU is measuring tiny little injector squirts. It does this very well. It is well aware of consumption. I think more accurately than our best guess at top off. This is how I understand it. Under similar circumstances I get similar numbers. I am tickled at how it beats my Tundra (which had 4.3 rear diff).

Ciao

Math sounds right. It is the low cruising speed that is doing it.
FWIW - whenever I have the cruise control on, the eco light is on. Even when I'm going 85MPH uphill.

Sweet - I'll try the cruise control on the next road trip.

P.S. I know I drive like an old man :meh:

keep in mind that your odometer is now off, but it should throw the numbers in the other direction... i.e. if you drive 100 miles according to your odometer you have actual driven 105 miles or whatever it would equal based on the percentage of increase in tire diameter you have... The cruise control works pretty good, the radar portion of it keeps driving simple and stress free... The acceleration could be a bit smoother at times IMO..

that's funny, I'm gonna have to try that on my rig and see if it stays lit also.... You can set it so it will show you the box you have to keep the rpm's in for it to stay in "green mode"... I was under the impression it worked off of engine rpm's only, but apparently once you give control to car it belives it's always green I guess... I did notice the minute you pop the gear shifter over and choose your own gears the light goes right off and will not come on no matter how low your rpm's are...

The Eco light is based upon engine load and throttle pedal position. With the cruise control on, the throttle pedal position is reading 0% and the Eco light will remain lit. Try accelerating using cruise control, say from 50 to 75 mph, then repeat w/o cruise control but accelerating at the same rate ... You will notice that w/o cruise control, the Eco light will go out.

Somewhere in the owner manual, there is a description of how the Eco light functions, but it is not as clear as it could be ....
