There's one genius mechanic in Quebec, Canada who needs to be listed here for its great passion. There's not a lot of cruisers in this part of the world but he knows them, he fully rebuilt two 70 series and worked on many. For now modifying 4runners since there's a market for those.
He's not on mud so I promote him. Give him a call he'll be more than happy to help you out.

Thanks to Mud and Taos Offroad & Performance,
On last week's Outlaws Run I needed stripped caliper bolt holes fixed on my 80 and another guy needed a air pump on his 60. Norbert at Taos Offroad took great care of us. I found him here.

Are there any Michigan shops (other than the two listed in the first post) folks would recommend? I'm hoping to find a good mechanic to do a buyer's inspection for a 100 series in the Ann Arbor area.

I'm from Montana originally and the two shops I used in Missoula for my FJ60 were Master Tech and Adam's Auto. Both did high-quality, very thorough work. Gary's Conoco is good for routine maintenance (oil, brakes, etc.).
