Here is a write up created by Jeff Zepp with the details:

Cruise Moab 2007 is now live and available for registration!

http://www.risingsun4x4club.org/cmregister07.asp

Wednesday May 2 though Sunday May 6 2007. Schedule of events:

Tuesday May 1 Registration and Safety inspection for the overnight run, which will be Wednesday and Thursday. Overnight run is an additional $20 for the extra permits we have to pull, limited to 20 rigs, hosted by Wasatch Cruisers and Rising Sun.

Wednesday May 2 Registration and safety inspection, vendor night with vendor booths, prizes and special events.

Thursday May3 Guided trail runs. Possible BBQ with the Toyota Trail Teams. Videos of the day's wheeling in the Cruise Moab canopy.

Friday May 4 Guided trail runs. Banquet, awards and raffle at the Bar M Friday night.

Saturday May 5 Guided Trail runs.

Sunday May 6. Clean up and drive home.

We are looking forward to our best year ever with our 10th anniversary! Highlights:

(1) Our headquarters is back at Slickrock campground. Issues we had the year before last should be resolved, and we have reserved several rows specifically for our event. Please tell them that you are with Cruise Moab, and you will get your choice of cabin, tent or RV camping in contiguous blocks so we will all be together.

(2) Registration cost has not increased this year, same $95 as last year. Registration gets you in to the event, 3 days of guided trail runs, dinner, t-shirt, sticker, registration schwag, and much more.

(3) We will have at least 3 FJ Cruiser Trail Teams, plus one 4runner from their team.

(4) We will have a HAM radio base station at base camp to augment the satellite phones that our leaders carry.

(5) Rising Sun will have an inventory of spare parts in our trailer at base camp to help out with inevitable breakage on the trail.

(6) Our BLM permit has been extended for another 5 years, now with a higher upper limit, we will now be able to accept up to 175 registrants! (Previous was 150)

(7) We will have an overnight run similar to what we did year before last with Hole In the Rock Trail. Right now it looks like it will be the Comb Wash, but we are still working on trying to get permission to camp on Ute Indian Reservation lands.

Register NOW to make sure you get the trails you want on the days you want! If you wish to camp with us in the main group at Slickrock Campground, make your reservation NOW to make sure you can camp together with us!

Is it possible to sign up if your TLCA membership is pending?

yes.

Just put pending in the box and then e-mail the number when you get it.

Approx 170 slots and 40 of them are already gone

Can you guys explain in a little more detail what to expect for this event? I've really started giving it some serious thought for about the last month. First off, I would probably only consider going if I can tow my rig out there. In order to do that I'll need to borrow something from the parents or get one or both of them to come along. Do you think it would be a good environment for them if they weren't interested in going on any/every trail run with me?

Do you guys try to coordinate any of your trail runs with each other? It looks like you've got to make all your decisions as to what you want to do far in advance.

How accurate do you think the trail ratings are? I'm thinking that I'd mostly like to do 4 & 4+ trails. But if there are any with scenery that really stand out then a nice mellow run would be good too.

I have no problem registering this much in advance but I want a better idea what I'm getting into.

you can coordinate with friends or just wing it on trail selection in which case you are likely to meet some interesting people.

I would go for a mix, you will meet some great folks and wheel with many vehicle types, That being said, the trail ratings are very accurate for many, and nothing in California really compares, been going three years now and love every minute. Scenery is everywhere on most trails but I for one love Kane Creek for the bottom canyon views and Golden Spike is amazing.

The runs are all good, all different. Anything rated a 3+ or higher will be a blast. I've run most everything but Prichett Canyon, rated 5. I did Behind The Rocks a couple of years ago -- serious pucker factor.

The scenery / mellow run that you want to sign up for is Elephant Hill. It's run in Canyonlands National Park, and the scenery is amazing. But it fills up fast, so register now.

69 people have registered as of an hour ago. 100 spots lfet

I really want to go but I feel as if I'm going to spend too much time asking stupid questions. Let me try to get them out there and get it over with.

1. If I end up NOT being able to go does anyone know if the registration is refundable or transferable?

2. If I can talk dad into going and taking the motorhome, are there any size restrictions? Big motorhome in conjunction with big trailer.

3. If I cant talk dad into going and end up trailering my rig with Dodge dually, will that pose any problems.

4. If no motorhome should I try for tent camping or a cabin?

I really want to go so start talking me into it. I worry too much.

I think I read that dogs pretty much weren't allowed, what's the scoop?

I cant answer #1 thats up to the Rising Sun folks, There is enough parking in the rear of the campground for any extra trailer, the pads are 50ft(at least what I reserved#35) Your wont be the only one with a large rig, I sit at over fifty five feet with truck and trailer. As for campig, I stayed at the Motel Six and Best Western for the last three years, so its all your preference. Each has it benefits, I bought the Warrior toyhauler so Im gonna get my money out of it, lots of folks tent camp,
your looking at a 14 hour drive from San Diego, best advice I can give is go for it, good people and good times:cheers:

It can be refunded. There is a Fee though. I think it's listed on the reg form and something like $10.

The campground has large RV spots and places for your trailer. The Campground has electrical and water hookups and even cable. There is wireless as well. One of the great part of the CM experiance is after the trail walking around the campground at night and stopping to visit at Slees tent, at metal Tech's, at profitts and at the NorCal teams area and other great cruiser heads around the area.

Where else can you have a beer and smoke a cigar with many of the folks you only know from Mud.
