HDC Club Members,

I got an intro email from the Cruise Moab folks about next year's event. I thought I would post up for those of you that may not have received the email.

For those members that have never been to Cruise Moab, you may want to consider this event. It is a great event, well planned and attended. These guys have been doing this for several decades and have the process down.

We're changing things up for next year's Cruise Moab event. Here's the scoop.

Here are exciting new updates for the 2019 event:

Dates
First, the official dates of next year's event are:
Tuesday, April 30 thru Sunday, May 5, 2019
Request vacation time and block out your calendar now!

New HQ Location
We're going to the Old Spanish Trail Arena on the south end of Moab this year for registration check-in on Wednesday, our Vendor Showcase on Thursday night, and the famous Raffle Dinner on Friday night. We've never done this before but there is a lot of space for everything!

Camping & Lodging
For 2019, we're not going back to Kane Creek Campground even though we loved this venue and so did many of you. We hope to return in the future, but the campground is not available for May 2019 due to permitting issues. We're looking into new camping options with a group discount. We'll send more info soon. If you prefer to stay in a condo or hotel, consider options on the south end of Moab for 2019 so you can be close to the action.

Satellite Communications with GPS
For the first time ever, all our trail leaders will be using Garmin inReach devices to track the location of our groups on the trail. These devices offer two-way messaging and can be used to contact emergency services if needed. If you're interested in checking out this technology for yourself, Costco has good deals on these devices.

New Overnight Trails
We've been working with the Forest Service and BLM to offer new overnight trails for 2019. We can't spill the beans just yet, but if you like to test your overlanding equipment on multiple-day trails in the scenic middle-of-nowhere, you won't want to miss the next Cruise Moab!

New Online Registration
We're working on the next version of cruisemoab.com to streamline your online registration and make it friendly for smart phones. We will be opening for registration earlier than last year so please watch your inbox. We sold out in record time last year and expect it to go even quicker this year!

New Method for Trail Selection
For the 2019 event, we're separating registration from trail selection, so we can use a powerful scheduling app to help you manage your trails. That means you'll be able to change trails from your phone, tablet, or laptop without having to find a member of the Cruise Moab committee. We think this will be a huge upgrade!

the new Overnight trails is very intriguing but 2019 I'm going to the Lone Star Jamboree,.. 2020 the Great Smokey mountains run and if I'm still have in NM, 2021 returning back to Pismo Beach with a Mojave Desert run..

for those going!! Have fun at Cruiser Moab!! it's an awesome event!!

Hmmm...one of these years I'll have a redemption trip to Moab area (been 5 years since Bears Ears) but probably won't be this next year.

ooooh…. Todd and the other Bronco guys are going to be bummed they don't have the arena. They've had it there the past two years and it IS great with ample parking and a nice lawn to stretch out on.

Hmmmmmm.... Ive always wanted to. I don't think anything I own will pass the safety inspections!
Anyone interested in a ride along?

You can ride with me. I'll even let you drive her. Provided Todd finds a 60 (I think I located one yesterday that may be a possibility) I'm sure he'd be happy to have your company.

OH, and thanks everyone! He must've really liked everyone he met Saturday; he's hot and heavy to have a land cruiser now... considering I've had two since we've been married and he's always "liked them" but was diehard Ford Bronco, it must be the people in this group (and his envy at how things were done with Cruise Moab last year vs the Bronco Roundup). YES!!!

Cheryl, since I can’t make anything happen on these...
toyota land cruiser 1987

And

SWEET FJ 60 1983

That 83 isn’t the best year but sounds like Todd wouldn’t be using much of the drivetrain anyway

I call shotgun on Larry's Poupon mobile with bun warmers/coolers/vibrators/espresso dispenser/hot, steamy towel warmer....

Excellent!! Perhaps these?

A matching pair of sand colored ones in Los Alamos. :D I remembered my dad saying this guy had a couple he might want to get rid... had n offer last year on one, but turned it down. I figured we'd have to double the offer; instead he sold us both for that same price! Oh happy day! One's more a parts car and has an 88 grill after he hit an elk, but has excellent interior. The other's got a pretty nice/clean body.
