Friday was spend with @woody and @AutoCraft Aus and @RLMS on the Kokopelli testing the new Slinky Long Travel suspension. By far the best suspension I've had on any of my trucks. Extremely pleased and impressed with what Darren and his team have put together. I'm still going through photos so I only have a few to share at the moment.
You might recognize this truck.

Would love to see more pictures and feedback on the Slinky Long Travel Suspension. What is the difference between this system and IconVehicleDynamics system, as they both state that they use Icon shocks. Are the shocks that both companies sell identical, and the only difference being that the Autocraft kit having the "Slinky" springs?

There is a thread in the 80s section about the Autocraft (slinky) suspension and you can also find details in Redline Land Cruisers vendor forum since they're going to be the US distributor.

As for feedback, I was extremely impressed with the performance. I'll be doing a more in depth review and a couple of articles for TCT Magazine comparing it to common OME suspension. So stay tuned. Yes, the Slinky Long Travel suspension uses Icon shocks (either 2.0 emulsion shocks or 2.5 reservoir CDC shocks) but they are not identical to the ones used in the new ICON suspension for 80s. These are custom valved to Autocraft specs and I've gotta say I think Darren and crew at Autocraft have tuned these shocks almost perfectly. The Slinky Long Travel is ideal for trucks built for more "overland" travel and carrying more weight, hence their tagline #ultimatetourer. They still flex well, I gained about 6" of travel, but they really shine in the higher speed stuff. The ICON kits have a much lighter spring rate and would not handle the loads as well.

It's easily the best suspension I've had on any of my trucks.

Ran with AutocraftAU and Red Line Land Cruisers today on the Kokopelli trail, including down Rose Garden Hill and out Onion Creek...fun day testing the new Slinky suspensions and seeing their capabilities :)

Would anyone know what suspension set-up is on this rig? Nice articulation!

The Poison Spider run caught up to my buddy and I on Saturday up on Skyline Drive. We followed them out until the traffic jam then hung back until it cleared up a bit.

@Box Rocket doesnt seem to see the value in a good poser shot. :flipoff2:

But I got a couple at the wedgie and he did clarify how to pronounce Tepui.

I've heard stories about this truck from my buddy Kevin. Definitely a unique look!

Like I said, we hung back once there were too many rigs in the area, so I took some from further back.

No doubt, I can see that the right-hand line was the best one this year. I used to hug the cliff on the left in a LWB in the past and do the middle line in my shorty 40, but those lines are more dug out at the base than years past.

Afew pics from some of the drives while at CM16.
