In fact, BTR and GS were not listed on any day when I signed up.

You have to select "Expert" to get the higher rated trails in the drop-down box. I wasn't planning to stay at BFE but the registration screen implied the price was the same so I left the "camping" box selected. After going back to the CM web site, I see that they are charging us $40 for leaving that box selected. Oh well.... maybe I will camp at BFE for the week. I love camping, just not in a campground with 300 people and kids and dogs and so on.

Starting to sound like a grumpy old man. Where's your sense of adventure?

I feel like a grumpy old man. :flipoff2:

Ken,
What is the coupon code and what do the guys in our club do to get a coupon or discount?

-Mike-

No one got a discount, not even Rising Sun folks. The coupon was intended for the Planning Committe, but it did not get implemented in time

This isnt camping at a campground, you want to go off and be by yourself, you can or your club can camp in it's own group together.

One of my main reasons for not going to CM much anymore is that it has just gotten really big. Bigger than my comfort zone.

And how is SnT different from CM? ;)

I'm OK with hanging with lots of people at the check in and vendor fair and the tech inspection and the raffle/dinner. But at night I need my beauty sleep and I don't want to walk half a mile to tinkle in the morning. :D

Ken,
Those of us that are attending CM are really looking forward to it again this year. This might be the best year ever and if it isn't the best year ever then it will still be much better than being at work all week.

So it's not the number of people that's the problem. It's the level of 'hotness' of those people that is the determining factor.

By George I think we've got it!
Hot Chicks that don't understand your jokes and drink your beer = good.
Grumpy Old Guys that laugh at your jokes and give you free beer = bad.

We now know what makes Onur tick! :bounce:

which makes him an [STRIKE]underage[/STRIKE] female alcoholic enabler, rather than an alcoholic himself.

As if you ever had any issues with knowing what makes me tick....

Don't forget cruisers, parts, and wrenching!

Onur, I know you are not worried about these comments. Just to add a word, those of us without the ball and chain have some advantages than those with, who knows maybe they are jealous??? Mike, free beer for the night to a hot chick is cheaper than all the s*** a married guy is supposed to buy year round (and do you really think we give a $chit if she understands our joke)! And if you are that grumpy of an old man, you won't be giving free beer! Of course there are two sides of the story, but I am only standing up for one at this point. The other will wait till I get a good deal.

So, you are looking for a trophy wife with lots of money who will take you without a pre-nup?? :princess:

Back on track. As some of you know I had a problem getting my trails. The trails I wanted didn't show up on my list. Hants suggested it was because of my hardware selection, but my confirmation does say locker front and rear with 35" tires. Don't know. Stay tuned. Hopefully Hants can correct my trail list to something a bit more challenging.

We'll get you fixed up when I get back in town this weekend! :bounce:

HEY, you let you in? Spy, we have a spy!

I'm fixed. Thanks to Hants!

Slight hijack here; my daughter and I will be spending the week after CM in the Abajo Mountains and Canyonlands. We will be driving the 40 through NM, plan on staying Friday night April 30th in Edgewood or Albuquerque. In Moab Saturday night May 1st, possibly run a trail on Sunday before heading to Blanding that night. Would be happy to meet anyone still in town for dinner on Friday night in Albuquerque or the East Mountains and in Moab on Saturday night or Sunday breakfast, whatever. We'll be back through NM again on the way home on Saturday May 8th.

Hijack over. Would love to do both CM and our expedition, but my daughter can't have that long of absence from school. To everyone going to CM, have a great time.

Swing by the CM camping area at BFE area on your way into town.

Does anyone know if there will be cell phone service out at BFE?

-Mike-

I was told Verizon works.

Might do that; actually we've been invited to camp there that night by someone in Rising Star.

As far as commo, I've got the Moab and Monticello repeaters programmed in my radio, but if/when you know which simplex freq. you will be using then let me know that too please.
