Greetings, I am looking at getting a cruise control installed in my Ute, my right foot doesn't like the position much after a full day of driving anymore. I remember seeing someone post a list of part numbers for a Rasta brand but didn't take a screen shot of it. Don't have any kind of electronic signals in my 1985 Ute. Thanks.

Use a dash switch?

My dad added a stalk switch unit to one of our cars. Looked stupid but that was 30 years ago.

Hello,

@amaurer did a cruise control setup for a BJ42 a while ago.

It is worth checking.

Idle up knob? 😁
Been there, done that. Though only on long, lonely stretches of road. Probably not the best idea I've had while driving!

We had a European rig come in the shop while on a tierra del fuego trip. It had an aftermarket cruise control from a European company. I don't recall the name but he checked for me and it was no longer available.

I've also seen factory cruise control on an hdj80 that I suspect could be adapted to a 70 series.

And while I might be misremembering, I think I recall @ofer bruhis added cruise control to one of his rigs.

I have the Rostra universal kit on my lj78. It works great. You need the basic kit, a clutch switch if you have manual trans. a control wand and a speed sensor that mounts on your drive line.

Sorry I accidentally posted too soon and then went back and edited. Can you comment on the other parts needed?
Looks like the additional parts require are listed on the Amazon page you posted.
You will need the basic kit, the drive line speed sensor, a control head, and a clutch pedal switch if you have a clutch. The control wand I have is Rastra# 250-3742.

Got it. It looks like you're using the 250-4165 universal vss kit with a magnet zip tied to your driveshaft correct?

I'd like to find a way to have a VSS inline with the speedo cable. A quick search didn't show one for a Toyota though. I wonder if we could source an OEM one from a cruiser that came with cruise control.

I see the Amazon says you may need a clutch pedal switch but does not list one. Like the speed sensor,
The clutch switch is a universal fit item. Just google Rastra clutch pedal switch.

Yes the zip tie hold the magnet while the jb weld dries.
