Okay Slickpawn, that's a brand of bearing grease... but the process? When this was last discussed, the guys determined it was a bit of a hassle - the "bearing" or spring is somewhat buried in the little plastic hinge cover. One suggestion involved drilling a hole - to lube it. Did you just disassemble it and glue it back?

X4.
Awful.
Need to lube it where it rubs.

Maybe I got lucky but all I did was remove visor, stand on end, apply a few drops of my RC Car bearing oil on the pivot and let it drain into the visor. Work the visor until squeaky squeaky is gone. Reinstall.

Admittedly I use that bearing oil on everything. And admittedly I have about 4 types of oil and 10 or so needle type oilers. Old RC car racing habit. Tamiya TRF forever.
My favorite is Trinity Royal Oil.

Slickspawn has the CURE!! I'm trying it this weekend because they are STILL DRIVING ME CRAZY!!
Thanks Slickspawn!

I keep picturing this... I lube the hinge, the noise is gone... but the visor swings like a sack on a bull. Hoping there's something in that mechanism that's adding the requisite resistance.

I will order some and see if it works on my visor. It's only my driver side not the passenger.

I oiled mine and it helped a little but there is still noise. You can see the mechanism it you remove the secondary visor (the plastic one) and look at that one. I think it works the same way. I put silicone grease on that one and it helped a lot but its still very stiff to move. Feels like its going to break off when I move it.

I used armor-all. Not a true lubricant, but I was concerned of it sagging with time. Simple to take off if I need to do it again later. I had it against the wall and sprayed a little where the rod enters the visor. Off and on for about 30 minutes to let it run in there moving the rod in and out every once in a while. Now it's super quiet and still tight like it should be.
