The owner put 5K miles on it and spent three grand in service. Those numbers are encouraging, IMO
Wasn't some cheesy flip or drive-it-into-the-ground situation.

Solid start...I can advise on where to find all the right parts! One note, if this was originally equipped with surge brakes and they were removed, you could have titling/inspection issues. I had a hard time finding anyone to inspect mine, even though everything had been updated....found Catlett's service just south of Annapolis willing to do it, and the inspector commented that he actually enjoyed seeing mine in good shape since he was a military vet.
 
Home Depot is running a good promo on Ryobi 18v lineup.
A 2.0 and 4.0 battery with a single slot charger for $99 Plus a free (low end) tool.
Or a 2.0, (2) 4.0, and charger for $199 and choice of higher end tool.

I have no direct experience with their lineup, but that's a nice entry point for an ecosystem that is budget-friendly.
