Are there any after market windshield vendors for the FJ40 (1974) or is classifieds the only avenue? Thx

I had one cut at a local glass shop. Where are you located? I have a template window I can loan you if you are in the Seattle area. If not I would try and get a hold of your local club. The dealership still has some windows, but they are SPENDY.

Thx. Sadly, I'm in MN. I can find one out here. It just might be a bit of a drive. Just wondering if anyone found a good, reliable parts place that carried them

Most any glass shop should be able to cut a new one for you, using the old one as a template.

I got one for around $100 and installed it myself. There are several DIY threads on this forum.

I just got a quote from a local glass place. $75 for the install. $175 for new glass and install (clear glass, not the green tinted). Not bad.
The green tinted glass is 75 bucks more.
Check your local auto glass places.

I had mine replaced (twice) about 4 months ago. The local glass shops can do it, but check around... I got quotes from $200 to $325.

On the way home, 6 miles after having the windshield replaced, an on coming gravel truck lost a large piece of cargo, my new windshield found it :bang::bang::bang:. I immediately returned to the windshield shop. The guy felt sorry for me and installed a new windshield for $100. :)

you get the best fit if you bring the OEM rubber channel (still available from the dealer) to the windshield shop
