Grass was too wet to cut this weekend so I spent some time on the 80 that I saved from the not so good part of town. Replaced the front door runs, window regulator/motor, added a layer of sound deadening to the front doors and the door speakers. The door panels were not salvageable, something about sitting outside with the window down killed them. The red 80 that was crushed by the tree is going to donate its door panels. Still need to do the same on the rear doors. Earlier in the week some of the oil leaks were fixed. Front crank seal, oil pump cover, dizzy o-ring, valve cover gasket, spark plug tube seals, cap, plug wires and belts. Still need to do the phh, rear main seal and reseal the upper oil pan. Also pressed in the OME caster bushings in the front arms to finish my go to lift for an 80 consisting of 850j’s in the front and 863’s in the rear.

Today it got its first bath in 7+ years. I used the foam cannon and a terry cloth towel for extra scrubbing. Other than the chipped paint on the hood and the front of the fenders the body and paint is in great shape and will polish out nicely when the time comes.

The 80 that was drug out of the hood has come a long way. It now runs and drives and is sitting on a set of locked axles waiting for me to have some time to finish it up. Going to be a nice truck when it’s done.

You keeping it or selling?
Was going to be for my oldest but she wants my LS430 or a Tacoma. As of now my wife has claimed it and I have been using it as a daily but anything is for sale. Planning on using it as a test mule for a 3uz/A761e swap after crawl if it’s still a member of the fleet.

Hard to believe that this is the same truck that I was soaping down in my driveway yesterday. Pic from Google Earth where I drug it out of the previous owners front yard.

I’ve got so many photos of Jeff at K1 in 2009.
