birmingham's only 4 hours from clemson....

i doubt my stuff will be back together by then...but maybe that should be my goal date for completion (holy crap, that would mean i'd have to start workin on it, ha ha)

malphrus

Your goal date should be the first football game so you can tailgate in it Malph quit beating around and Git R Done. As for that weekend it is an open week in the schedule so that sounds like a possibility to me.

well if anyone else from upstate wants to go I will tag along, I just don't want to go solo....

Richard what is the date for the the ride to cashiers, are you still planning on doing that?

I will be there. Yall should come, its bound to be a good time.

Its even an off weekend for Clemson and Auburn.

Yeah man I still want to do that run but we need to scout it out first. You want to do that maybe before school make it a weekend camping trip. Oh yeah and the South Dakota/Denver run is looking more promising too might even be getting some money from the school.

just let me know when we leave........ I haven't been west of the mississippi in two years, since we got the beast, and it is killing me.......... what dates would you be going?

we could take the 40...................

Anyone that would drive a topless 40 to Tellico in Jaunary just might be crazy enough to drive it to Colorado as well so i would watch out if I were you "55"

the cold is cleansing .............. although I did pussy out on the way back and borrow your soft doors.............I just cut my only set of doors into half doors, so I will never have doors even if I want to anyome.

And I will be going topless again this jaunuary to Tellico as well

We'd be going either the week before or 2 weeks before school got back in, I think. I am cool with cruising in the 40 so long as we get to Denver so I can get the stuff I need there and we spend a day at the mine so I can check it out adequately and get pics and s***. Plus we could wheel around it some. I wish I could take the 55 but I dont think its top speed on the highway and its reliability will still be to suspect for that.

realiability isn't the 40's strong point, but we shall see how the new improvements, but nothing would be cooler than cruising the open plains out west than in a topless 40.............

True that I would be all about the 40 I think that would be awesome. well see when we get closer got a couple months still.

Well it's time to make it that way. I've got a few things left and it should be able to travel the world. I'm in on the trip to AL. Alex?

JP read the book about the guy who drove around the world in his cruiser and I read the article in toyota trails where he did baha so we both know that a cruiser can do it. I just dont think either of us have that highest of faith in ours yet.

well since "crossing my fingers" my engine rebuild the 40 has run great................ well if you are going to bama marshall better go to make sure you don't break anything...............

marshall are you going to come on the august tellico trip too?

it's one tough truck

Oh yee of little faith.....hehe.....Richard's right. Read "Who needs a Road?"
Harold Stephens and Albert Podell, 1968, Wolfenden Publishers.
For me it's always been a question of MY durability...NOT my
40. 3 or 4 hours in the 40 wears me out these days. I wouldn't
hesitate, save my condition, to take my 40 cross country. With
a few tools and some spares the 40 is quite the expedition truck.
Not that I'll ever test THAT....but it's nice to know the truck is capable
even if I'm not. :)

Ohm...cruiser,cruiser,cruiser...Ohm
