This looks like it is going to be a good one. I'm too far away to do a PPI and I think that's needed to make a competitive bid.

Southern one owner, two accidents both on the rear bumper. Sold by State Farm Insurance.

Auction is in less than 24 hours. It looks like an easy fix with a new tailgate.

They don't usually total a 2000 LC for just a tail gate, much less a 2006 w/155K. Someone needs to get over there and take a look.

I'm not an insurance expert, but I have noticed that a number of times on Copart: a valuable car with fairly insignificant damage and a salvage title. It looks like it is $8300 with reserve not met. For me that already a bunch of dough for a sight unseen car with a big scarlet letter salvage title.

Salvage title is great if you're keeping it for a lifetime. If you ever want to sell, it sucks. I bid $7500 on it, that was my max. Just don't see it being worth more than that.

I stopped watching Copart years ago after trying to find a salvage just to get a hood and some other parts.

I was going to Copart yards (we've 3) inspecting any 100 series I saw. I never saw a diamond in the rough.

First one I bid on was a 05 w/150K. Look like was a very clean rig before accident. But had been T-boned bad. Frame, A & B pillars, roof, side doors floor broad rockers all very badly bent, even PS seats move into center console. Finally bid ~$10K. That "is" or "seem" "nuts". But these body shop guys buy to restore and flip under builders title (some states). 100 series prices are so high even salvage yards lose out on most bids. In CO we must be a dealer to bid. So we must pay a dealer to bid, a fee of $500 to $1K. Second Co-par has fees IIRC 10% plus taxes/tile/doc. Then a tow to get out next day or so, longer and a daily storage fee.

Price are nuts!

I bet it is going overseas. Seems way overpriced at this point for the US market. It is at $9,600 pre-bidding. Maybe more by the time I finish writing this.

I've bought several rigs from copart thru the years, I've done OK with all of them, a few 60 series, 1 80 series and several 100/470's
I've also have a limit on how much I'll go for a certain rig. knowing how much my fees will add to the price also helps.
it's 3 business days to get the rig or storage fees start.
