After reading about head gasket issues etc., I have decided to switch out the antifreeze in my 18 LC. What are you guys using and where are you getting it? I have not been able to find OEM coolant through the online Toyota parts sources I usually use.

Coolant is likely too much trouble to ship for most on-line places. You want Toyota pink SLLC, pre-mixed and ready to use.

Thanks!!!

I just paid the piper at the dealership. Can't remember what they charged me.

Thanks!!!
I found that none of the online retailers would ship the Toyota pink SLLC coolant due to it being a “hazardous” liquid, and had to bite the bullet at full MSRP at my local dealer :(

I just got back from the dealership in Edmond OK, (OKC suburb) where I picked up 4 gallons. They charged me $27 per gallon. Now the work begins.
Thanks for all the input!!

Has anybody used the Aisin ACT002 from RockAuto? It has the same part number number as the OEM Toyota SLLC (00272-SLLC2), and is $14.55 per gallon. FedEx Ground is the only shipping option ($18 to Chattanooga), but 4 gallons delivered averages out to $19 each.

I got 6 gallons of SLLC shipped from Larry H Miller Toyota at $19.65/G. Free shipping as part of a labor day sale. Though I only live about 40 miles away and work 10 miles away, I usually buy online from this place and have parts shipped when there's a promotion and save a lot over buying from the parts counter. They've shipped plenty of other fluids in the past too.

What’s the volume for a spill-and-fill of the radiator only (not opening any plugs on the block)?

I used this when I replaced the radiator in my GX, I expect to use the same whenever I face the inevitable on the LC. $20/gal pre-diluted from Autozone. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

A little over a gallon iirc. Closer to 1.5ish I think.

Just checked here Sept 2024 my Sept 2020 build LC200 with 36k miles. Coolant showing plenty glycol (scale a bit confusing) and pH of around 9. Brake fluid did not show any sign of copper wear (seems good, realistically should check for water content as well but do not have the tester for that yet).

2014 BMW F10 535d
For reference my Nov 2013 build BMW F10 535d with 68k miles shows this. pH at 9 still looking great, so does the glycol content. Rightly or wrongly (probably the later) never changed the coolant to date. Just added OEM blue coolant in small amounts from evaporation losses (to raise from min to max level, very small amounts, around every two years or so). I know it has low mileage for its age, so that probably plays a key role in this as well.

Brake fluid was changed Mar 2019 at 33k and is showing its age now at ~100ppm copper.
