snow and ice storm

We got hit with a very bad ice and snow storm and I have really enjoyed the LC. Goes through a foot of ice and snow easily. I've been able to get around very nicely to get gas (for the generator) and supplies and help out the elderly neighbors and get to work. The nannies are very useful and helpful on ice. What a great truck. Looks like I will be without power for a week. :steer:

Jonesky - Are you holding on to your Tundra? Love the 200's, but am finding it hard to justify two 5.7L V8's (I have an '07 4x4 CrewMax)!

Am considering an '06 100 for the wife and to build as a moderate+ wheeling rig (love my '97 80, but the baby on the way is making me consider a change for safety's sake, since :princess:'s not comfortable driving the Tundra), but I'm afraid if I go with such an upgrade that we'll want to take the LC everywhere and the Tundra will be relegated to towing-only duty...which may make me kick myself in the arse for not getting a 200 (and maybe keeping the 80)! :bang:

Decisions, decisions...sorry if my loud thinking hijacked...great rig, congrats!

jonesky where do you live that youll be without power for a week

I'm in Louisville, Ky. Victim of the latest disaster. Last September the remnants of Ike ripped out our trees with steady winds of 75mph and no power for 8 days. This time it was an ice storm which tested the vertical strength of our trees and many failed so no power for 5 days. I'm so freaking glad I got the Honda Gen with a proper breaker panel! House would've frozen otherwise, with the likely damages that would have occurred.

No, the Tundra is gone, can't justify two trucks. Just me and my boy, no wifey. I couldn't parse out how you have 2 5.7's from your post but the gas mileage is not very different between any of the trucks you've described so far. And unless your wife is a good driver I don't know that I would buy her a rig to drive daily and then turn it into a wheeler. To me that means you lift it and that might make it tippier. I don't have enough info to comment further. And I never have enough info to comment intelligently.:hmm::hillbilly:
