I screwed with my carb and could never get right . Finally just got an EFI kit from Mosley. I felt like it was worth the $2700. My 40 went from being a hassle to drive anywhere, to being my daily driver right now
I'm really close. That's a lot of scratch. Hell, I paid less than that for the cruiser.

I'm not a big fan of the EFI on the 40's. I blew my idle circuit out with air and got a plug of junk out of the idle side. It looked like a tiny slim jim of garbage after that it idled great. Keep working it.

I'm diggin the sniper. Just not the price. I will mess with it this weekend and if I can't get it right, well, sniper it is. I'm just ready to be done with this thing so I can move on to other stuff I want to do around the house and such. I'm not good with multiple projects.

Pulled the jets today and cleaned them again. Put everything back together and still rough idling. My dizzy has two vac port on the diaphram and two on the cap. I connected the two on the diaphram, plugged one on the cap and ran one to the advance port on the carb. Its idling good now. Still can't get it stepped down to 650rpm though.
New problem is when you run it for a bit and it warms up, shut it off, and it won't start. Barely cranks over, like the battery is dead. Put cables on it and it fires up. Once it cools down it fires right up with no issue. Ideas?

Check timing with vac disconnected from dizzy?

Turns out it was a bad battery. Only 4 months old and took a s***. Up and runnin now.

Coming from a Sniper owner. Their quality control has gone down hill. I like it but it doesn’t wheel like the carb. The Sniper will not lug like a carb

The lugging under load I would of thought would be a plus for the EFI that's kind of depressing but I don't see a lot of talk about people wheeling with the EFI either, just posts about running up and down the road and how great it is cold starting
I am happy with my carb'd 40 but I also like things simple

Yeah I can’t say that I notice “lugging under load”. But I’m also probably stupid, so…

My 40 is setup as A Rock crawler. It will lug down to a stall but Not stall with the carb. With the Sniper it doesn’t seam to want to lug down that far without stalling. My advice is Stick with the carb.

Got the 8274 mounted last weekend. Also had quite the death wobble happen last weekend when I took it down the road for a quick spin. Turns out that my u-bolts were hand tight! Ha! Just happened to see them this morning. It will be getting an alignment in the next couple weeks.

Fixed the driver B-pillar yesterday and got the top on today. Pulled it out into the sun to heat it up and stretch it to fit. Got new door skins and weatherstrip from sphincter off road, so that will be an upcoming project.

So, my turn signals don't work. They stay illuminated when turned on. What am I missing?? I absolutely suck at wiring. Don't understand wiring diagrams, they just make my pea brain hurt. Can someone explain to me in the dumbest terms, please? Thanks

This guy explains it pretty well. Also make sure you have 1156 in the rear turn signals

You, my friend, saved me from sucking on a shotgun barrel. It was the F-ing bulbs. Thank you sir. I now have turn signals.

I didn't really like the way the new Spring Green paint matched the old on the body repairs I did. So this morning I went to a paint shop, that has done some color matching for me in the past, in Manasshole, and took a kick vent with me. The result is a perfect faded Spring Green in 5 spray cans. FST bows, doors and running boards will be matched to the patina on the truck. I will also be sanding and repainting the areas of body work I did. Pretty excited about it.

Snagged this minty guy for a great price tonight off Fakebook marketplace. March 31,1980. It was on a fire truck all its life. Going to go on my '76 40. Its dirty but really clean, if that makes since.
