Things done:

Complete new metal where needed. Some welding was done, but alot was purchased new.
Blasted and repaint of Frame/Engine
Replaced all trim and rubber
New Interior roof
All new bolts
And new 6H9 matte paint.

Here are the pics from start to current state. So far I am at 3300.00 for everything. No more surprises I hope haha ya right.....

another 400.00 today for new material on the inside of the roof, new windshield and ambulance door window trim and work to fix my loose steering....ahhhhh once this is complete my 40 will be pretty much brand new....someone please tell it's going to be alright hahah...I bought the 40 a year ago for 6500.00 and have now put almost 4000.00 in restoration. I know once she is done she'll be worth well over 15K. Not that I could ever sell her...:bang:

Ya it is, but I feel most people who go down this path do it for the love of the 40. I mean just painting a 35 year old vehicle is pointless unless everything else is mint, which is almost never the case. I guess the difference between 40's and other vehicles is that its actually worthy of spending the money to bring them back to life. These are vintage collectors which not only hold their value but increase.
Why put all that money into paint, if you keep your old busted window trim and head lights and door handles haha...etc etc..

I hope not. He's already painted everything underneath and engine bay and inside of fenders. He will be painting hood separate. I know he will be taking doors off again to paint ya but that's it.

I'm hoping two more weeks max on this job. The more you dig the more you find that needs to be addressed. Ugh......

Beaut colour Ryan!

It'll go well with the black roof too and with a matt finish you won't even need to worry about the effect of the sun. (Mine's already gone from gloss to matt in most places because of the sun.

Those panels look ever so straight and smooth .... A tribute to lots of good prep work!
