Coming along well there Ryan...

Thanks, I am very excited to get the paint started

another 400.00 today for new material on the inside of the roof, new windshield and ambulance door window trim and work to fix my loose steering....ahhhhh once this is complete my 40 will be pretty much brand new....someone please tell it's going to be alright hahah...I bought the 40 a year ago for 6500.00 and have now put almost 4000.00 in restoration. I know once she is done she'll be worth well over 15K. Not that I could ever sell her...:bang:

Slippery slope eh?
The HJ47 I'm driving today was purchased for $4500.00 about 2 years ago, and now, probably would have cost over 20k...
It's worth it though...

Ya it is, but I feel most people who go down this path do it for the love of the 40. I mean just painting a 35 year old vehicle is pointless unless everything else is mint, which is almost never the case. I guess the difference between 40's and other vehicles is that its actually worthy of spending the money to bring them back to life. These are vintage collectors which not only hold their value but increase.
Why put all that money into paint, if you keep your old busted window trim and head lights and door handles haha...etc etc..

Yep, I agree with you. It is certainly a labour of love, and absolutely worth it. There is something about a just restored vehicle that very few other things can match...especially a 40!

Primed more parts yesterday, and sanded down the fenders...help me out here, what is the second picture? bottom of passenger seat?

is he going to pull it all apart again to paint?

I hope not. He's already painted everything underneath and engine bay and inside of fenders. He will be painting hood separate. I know he will be taking doors off again to paint ya but that's it.

I'm hoping two more weeks max on this job. The more you dig the more you find that needs to be addressed. Ugh......

Beaut colour Ryan!

It'll go well with the black roof too and with a matt finish you won't even need to worry about the effect of the sun. (Mine's already gone from gloss to matt in most places because of the sun.

Those panels look ever so straight and smooth .... A tribute to lots of good prep work!
