can you find out the color of a 80 from the vin # ?

A dealer can, but you can simply by looking at the color code on the driver's door - low down I believe.

On mine the sticker is on the door itself. You will find the color code # below the "bar code"
in fairly small print. My '97 is as follows.... C/TR 1A6 then followed by some other alpha numeric symbols. The 1A6 is the color code for mine and translates to Moonglow pearl on the chart that Beowulf provided. Bear in mind this is for a '97.

C/TR denotes exterior color/interior trim code.

A/TM denotes axle/transmission.

The list of paint codes is for all Toyotas, several years, but I don't know how far back it goes. The ones that are highlighted (bold) are for '97 Land Cruisers.
