I changed both my O2 sensors about 20-30k miles ago and I need a new #2 again. This doesn't seem right to have to change it so soon, has anybody else have had to change theirs this soon after replacing them? I have a 94 cruiser with 117800 miles and replaced them with factory OEM O2 sensors last time.

TIA

Have you tried a re-set on the EFI computer?

Yes, same thing. Pulling the EFI fuse is easier than disconnectiong the battery and it doesn't jack with your radio pre-sets and the like.

I will still need to replace the O2 sensor, correct? I guess I might as well change both eventhough one is going bad. How much for the pair? Have you seen them go bad with such low mileage in them?

The advice is to reset it and see if it comes back? Quick way to determine if it's really a failed O2 or just a fluke condition met.

This code will also be set if there is a wiring problem between the ECU and the O2 sensor. Before replacing the sensor ohm the wiring between the sensor and the ECU, give it a good look over as well because it may be an intermittent problem, like a wire shorting only when hitting a bump etc. Look very closely at the wiring where it goes by the front driveshaft, I see a lot that rub on the driveshaft causing this problem. Also check the O2 sensor output at the DLC connector, there will be an OX1 and OX2 terminal. Much of the wiring is the same from the sensor to the ECU and the DLC.
