Unless you count Henry that got to the area a while ago already, I'd mark Mashed Potato's departure from ATL as the official 'kick-off' of the trip.
I have some laundry left to do and some more camp gear to pack up, but I think all of the "rolling stock" is ready and most all parts and tools are loaded.

I've been traveling most of the route for years back and forth just for preparation for this trip. It will be nice to finally get the real thing underway.

2 down, 2 to go

Well one of the other two (the 60) should already be there, right? I guess it just isn't ready to drive onto the trailer quite yet?

Speaking of loading onto the trailer, how is Roger going to load yours? Pretty sure he cannot easily get in and out of yours Ted. Andy going to help him maybe?

Andy is helping with the loading Monday.

Technically the 60 is ready to go but is sitting to high in the rear. On last ride my rear coils died, an easy replacement so I did the tow rig and trailer first. I had two different sets on hand to choose from though one would work. One set is too high other will not carry the weight. I weighed truck and did calculations and had Rob check my conclusion. New springs will be here Tuesday , so my truck goes on back of trailer. Yes Andy is helping me load. As it sits no one can get into Teds truck, we have to unload drivers seat load truck then reload gear.

Broken center pin - been there many times. Thanks for the pics Henry. Although we won't be in much "high country" like that, we will be seeing some unforgettable views too.

Where you at in CO? You should stop off at 21Rd before you get to Moab if you're not coming back to do it with us that middle weekend.

I am NOT going to do 21 Canyon by myself I'll wait and see what shakes out.

One week from today and I'll be parked at Grandpa's Garage!

Still hard to believe this is actually happening.

Andy / Radioridge I'll drag along a few spare parts for the 5.7 vortec.

99% ready to go....all that's left is to pack clothes...

this will be the first long distance run for the 6.0 gas / 2500 HD... I'll see how she runs and go from there....the other option is the dmax, as I'm mainly stuck in the GM brand. Regardless...the next truck will be a crew-cab and long bed 2500 or a 3500. Of course that's if I have any $$ to flush.

The bigger question at least for me....hopefully that congress will actually do their job and pass a budget...some of us are tied to what our fearless leaders do or don't do in more direct terms. In my mind I keep wondering how many more years....(my friend at work retires in Dec) so she is soon to be a "free agent".... I can only dream about that day arriving :)

Elbert
When are you leaving? We are currently planing to leave Saturday morning.

Right now....it looks like Friday the 2nd.

Is it too early to be missing my truck? Thankfully I have a busy work week ahead of me so the fidgeting should be at a minimum.

You can come get it, the flat hooks on trailer end of your straps would not hook to trailer, we used 2 Andy of Andy's and made it work.
