Is this the housing you need? I now know this is NOT for an F motor.

Need the F air cleaner to bolt onto my 2f conversion. Also parting out a 1978 color code 277. Rust on every panel except the doors and i'm using the drivetrain, otherwise let me know if you need anything!
will a F aircleaner fit a 2F?

Dang so I need to add to my list an F intake and carb

Edit: so the F cleaner won’t fit the 2f carb because of height or because of carb diameter?

I don’t understand the  part.

So, the one I posted on top is NOT for the F motor, but the one on bottom is.

Yes Ron, it is. Do you have the mounting bracket? Also, it looks like one of the mounting studs is broken.

The fundamental difference is that the F air cleaner is designed to clamp AROUND the F carb. The 2F is secured via a wing nut that clamps DOWN the lid to the top of the carb.

Ahh ok thank you for the clarification. I'm pouring through the fj40 forums right now trying to self educate on early carbs/dizzys and what this will take. The donor is a '78 but appears to have a dual-diaphragm vac advance ('79+) installed. On the Karma Cruiser did you switch the distributor to a vac retard to match the F carb?

No I run a brand new vacuum advance dizzy, the same one I offer on my website: PN 010-01A
