We had such a great time this weekend! Beautiful countryside, mostly nice weather, lots of interesting vehicles, and a county-worth of trails to explore! Our first time wheeling in the states and I'm sure I'll be back to AOAA! Thanks for the warm welcome from the CLCC members that were tenting with us in the T section of twin grove CG; and the sincere welcome from the cruiserheads from NY area and the NC club!

I've owned and daily driven this hj61 for 8 years, the last 2.5 of which it's been in various stages of being driven, down for repairs, entire front end taken apart, corrosion controlled/painted, etc. This was largely my first shakedown run after 2 years of wrenching (repairs up until last Tuesday lol), so I'm pleased with the performance of the 61, well, except for the disconcerting whine from the steering gear box and/or fan shroud (tbd) that developed 5 minutes into the first green trail. The truck went everywhere we pointed it, and hopefully widened out some of those skinny slaloms through the trees!

Looking forward to wheeling with the rest of the CLCC crew at Fall Crawl and hopefully other places before then.

Only managed to snap a few photos and a few videos. If you haven't been to this event yet, put it on the calendar for next year!

Good to hear we didn't scare ya away

@kevin in okinawa glad you came out it was fun wheeling with you. I think we talked about your whine did it ever whine on the road or parking lots? If not it’s probably a motor mount. Easy fix compared to a steering issue.

Funny you should mention that! Was talking with my buddy from home who said it’s likely the same thing. No issues other than when in torquey four low…will probably check tomorrow or soon to verify and be happy to find that be the problem. 🤙🤓

FYI to all - the Dollar General store at 81 Exit 100 and Suedberg Rd has produce, some meats, cookware, charcoal, socks, shirts, aprons for Bob, and all the usual stuff. No need to find a Walmart or grocery store if your needs are simple. It’s a 1/4 mile from the diner and Hampton Inn.

Aren't you a little late with this info?

no way, I've hung out with way sketchier dudes LOL. Did you figure out the source of the 200's malady?

Yes I have been in there. Not a bad place to stock up on random stuff. I usually stay at the Comfort in and have been there before.
