Anybody ever installed a clutch master cyl and the rod was too long? I can't adjust it far enough in without the rod itself hitting the clutch pedal.

Jeff, I just saw this EXACT problem happen a few months ago, during the 45LV build that went on at my shop.

MC had been disassembled, cleaned, painted and reassembled. Without my supervision. After the adjustment problem surfaced, I had Eric [fj40forlife] pull the MC back out. Discovered that the clip in the back of the MC [the one that holds the piston in] was missing, allowing the piston to travel too far back. Put the retainer clip back in, problem solved.;)

Take a look.

Best

Yeah, I will look at that. It's a rebuilt unit from NAPA so who knows. Thanks Mark.

Is your pedal height, etc. adjusted correctly? My clutch pedal was way low and I thought it was OK because it more or less matched the brake pedal. Turned out neither where in spec and they're both much higher now. Just a thought.

No mine is right. The way it has always been since I've had it. I fixed it today. I had to cut the rod off a little. Adjusted it and all is good.

Later,
