Just buy Pallet Racking.

I'm going to build some 25 feet long 12feet tall and 2 feet deep shelves so I'll get all the stuff piled really high and out of the way .

I bought used sections for above scrap price. The odd size uprights are the cheapest since the companies have a hard time selling them. My uprights are 44" deep and 9' and 12' tall. The industry standard is 48" so the recycler of Pallet racking was kinda happy to get rid of the odd size stuff. I also found some 28" deep for a friend who has a smaller shop.

It it has been the best investment I have made.

I had a bunch of pallet racking when I was in my other place it was great but way too deep for me . I wold love to find some of the 28" stuff but around here if I'm not buying 1000+ sections they wont talk to you . sort of sucky part living here in the north east

How about this , I was able to change the oil , check the brakes and rotate the tires on the van today using the lift (not doing it again in the stone driveway )

Still working on it , I took some time off as it was getting under my skin and before I screwed up a 24x 7 foot sheet of aluminum I needed to walk away for a little while and it got sucked into the mess so now that its been found under all the stuff I'll be working on it again

You can usually find adjustable uprights. Think bolt together. I've cut them down to all kinds of sizes. Surprised you can't find anything used. Never had that issue.
