I think I may order the rear floor they advertise, I need the rear section of the bed and for half the cost of the "other" brands I'm going to take a chance and see how it looks when it gets here. I would hate to waste $225 but heck I've blown that much in beer working on projects.

We all complain about not having affordable panel options in the U.S. and 16-20 gauge is standard for the auto restoration industry.

@luvdamud - I think we can all agree beer is merely "rented". @brian I know the metal may be thin but I'd like to actually have the piece in my hands before I decide whether or not it is useful. Could be good, may be bad, but I need something in front of me to make that decision. It's just a leap of faith I guess.

Well, there is a 30 return policy, so no risk if you are not comfortable with the panel.

I can't agree on the Beer statement. Beer is not rented, it is consumed. :)

doesn't matter how cheap they are, 19 gauge repair panels are not worth using.

16-20 gauge is standard for body panels Sheet metal vs. Body panel gauge???, sure I would prefer a heavier gauge but the price is right and with today's rust protection technologies these panels properly prepared should provide plenty of value.

@MScruiser nice fab work my friend!!!!!

I will chime in, after purchasing a rear sill for my 1978 a month ago.

I was extremely impressed with the fit and build quality of the sill. I had absolutely nothing negative to say about it. I contacted the seller several times with a few different questions, in which case he was quick to respond. The cuts were clean, the welds were professional; it was really a work of art.

I would not think twice about ordering any replacement panels from them, especially considering how much cheaper they are than CCOT (which I also love).

For what it's worth, remember, that no matter who's panels you purchase, they will require minor fitting (that includes panels I purchased from CCOT and classicparts4u)

By rear sill, do you mean you purchased the rear bed pan from CP4u?

I asked the seller some questions on eBay and for some actual pictures - the stampings in the stock photos looked rough. I never heard back from them. I did ask rather bluntly if the pictures shown were representative of the actual parts, so by not responding they probably saved us both time. I ended up ordering a DS floor pan from CCOT and a center piece from Real Steel. Very happy with both. They were both good quality, and 16 ga.

I had about 5-6 questions answered on ebay by them, a couple of the replies were within just a few minutes. I called them direct as well and spoke to a "live" person, again good info. I also asked a local high end car restorer if they ever used C2C and he said that he has used them with good success and that initially he ordered a couple of rockers from C2C for a 57 Cadillac he was restoring. When they arrived they didn't fit quite right, so he called and offered to draw up a sketch of the sizes he needed. C2C bent him up a custom set for no charge. Their office is about an hour from me, so I can literally go pick-up the parts for larger orders. I recently did the CCOT Fender/Quarter Combo deal and I was disappointed that the shipping was quoted at $160.00 for FedEx Ground and CCOT would not allow me to use my FedEx account to lessen some of the pain. C2C offers a full refund within 30 days neither CCOT or Real Steel offer returns for a cash refund, you bought it you own it. Based on the feedback above on the quality of the C2C rear bed on a previous post on this thread, I went ahead and ordered the rear bed panel for $222.63 with "free" shipping.

I highly doubt the pics were of the actual parts, considering they probably sell a tremendous amount of parts per day; don't forget they sell panels for more than just Land Cruisers.

They were very responsive to the questions I had when I contacted them.

As someone who works in the retail business, and who has to deal with customers on an everyday basis, I can tell you that when a customer gets pushy or starts asking blunt questions, I usuallly use the opportunity to send him or her away.

Maybe you scared them off? ;)

I quite possibly scared them off, but that's fine. The part I asked about was clearly cruiser sheetmetal.. I'd rather be blunt and blown off than disappointed with a purchase and waste a vendors and my own time returning something that wasn't up to my expectations. Their non-response was one of several predictable outcomes so no offense taken.

There's definitely a fine line between being blunt and offensive, but if a vendor doesn't want to answer real questions about his or her goods or services I am disinclined to give them business, personally and professionally. Personal choice of mine, and I am glad you guys are happy with your parts. Just wanted to throw my experience out there as well.

I definitely agree with you that you as the buyer the ultimate purchasing choice is yours and yours alone. But on the flip side, CP4U/C2C is subject to ebay reviews and is offering to ship the product for free and we all know there is a cost to the seller. Sharing your opinion is fine but it is not an experience with the actual product which would be of the most value to others. I ordered the rear bed pan which is 18 gauge and inner/outer rockers which are 16 gauge, so even the 19 gauge statement is not correct assumption across the panels they offer.

Also, on CCOT, I ordered the fender/combo deal and I was overall happy with the pricing and quality of the parts I received.

One of my questions to them was about the steel thickness - as it wasn't specified in the listing. That to me is an important consideration, and it went unanswered in my case. I made no claims as to the thickness of their parts, and I never did an eBay review of them.

You're absolutely right - I have no experience with their actual parts and therefore my input isn't as significant as someone who does. Maybe I shouldn't have spoken up. Maybe they will see this and be motivated to add some better descriptions, such as the thickness and some better photos to their listings. If they did, then maybe they'd do more business on account of increased buyer confidence. That would be a favor to them and folks here.

About CCOT - I had an order take ~1 month or thereabout to receive which I was informed of at the time, as they do have to make parts to order according to inventory and I was charged a good bit for shipping. Everything I have bought from them has however been packaged well and has arrived without any damage, and fits as well as can be expected given that it's going into a pieced back together 40 year old truck.

Carry on.

It is fine that you spoke up but to make a blanket statement that ..."by not responding they probably saved us both time" isn't really appropriate or accurate, as you don't really know. I was not advised up front by CCOT that shipping the order could/would take up to 1 month + to receive. My 40 is sitting at the body shop, so the sooner I receive the better. I sent a list of parts to C2C: front, mid, rear pans and rockers and was advised the parts would be available for pick-up or to ship the following week, so CCOT didn't save me any time. The CCOT panels are not gold and not oem, and C2C offers panels across numerous classic cars, and I am sure the people that spend the time and high $ to restore their classic cars have standards on par with 40 enthusiasts, plus 40 panels have to be some of the simplest panels to reproduce relative to other model cars/trucks. I am not knocking CCOT, as I'm sure I will purchase from them again and I expect the parts to be of good/acceptable quality. We need more supplier options not less, so discouraging others from trying a new supplier without any actual experience of your own is a disservice to others imo.

I wonder if they could make us hard top patch panels... As far as I can tell nobody sells them and I, for one, will definitely need them!

My driver floor panel came with my 40 in the back when I got it and the box said classic parts for you. I’m happy with how it turned out
