I tried doing some searching but I could only find info on the later version locking hubs.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to source the corrects bolts to mount these hubs?

These are going on a 1973 FJ55

I would think that the bolts you take out to put these hubs on would fit. You might need longer ones, but you could get them at like home despot in the metric bolt selection. Get at least grade 5 equivalent, 8.8 is the metric #

This is what I am replacing with the city racer version. It was mounted by long bolts.

Correct me if I’m wrong but the city racer version I linked is a “barrel” or warn style locking hub?

Which would use this bolt?

You could probably use that bolt, probably been done before. Not everyone loves cone washers like I do.

Don't those go on with studs, cone washers and washers and nuts?
y'know what, I might be wrong. If those are not Aisin hubs with cone-washer shaped holes then bolts might be better. Looking at the pics more closely, the mounting holes look straight thru, but the bolts they show have heads that sorta look like they mimic a cone-washer?
Y'know what I might do? I might contact City Racer and ask him.

I emailed City racer a few days ago but I believe the shop is closed til the 17th. Was hoping someone on here had run into the same issue and documented it. Oh well no big rush. Thanks for the help so far.

To anyone else reading this and interested in the take off FJ55 “stock” locking hubs, feel free to drop me a message.

I got ARP studs awhile back when I swapped some old Warn Auto Lock hubs.
Edit: like this kit.

Hmmm...they look very similar to the factory hubs. i thought the knob was a PO mod because the original knobs that came on mine did not work very well.
I stand corrected.

1.Those hubs do not have tapered holes for studs and cone washers.
2. Studs and cones are for steel body hubs.
3. If you look at the backside of the hub, you can tell that it is a pot metal product that will shatter under the stress that it will take to seat and reseat AND RESEAT cones into holes that weren’t designed for them.
4. If you’re sure you want to move forward with those hubs, M8 bolts between 32-35mm would be appropriate. Or studs with nuts and Star washers.

Not the news I wanted to read but what I needed to. Thank you for your insight. What a learning experience this whole build has been. Guess I’ll try returning. What is the better option for a locking hub going forward?

Depends on your intended use. Call me on Monday.😉

This. Just get OEM hardware. Strong and lasts forever.

"Warn" hubs are not machined for tapered cones... It's just a straight through hole. They originally had a stud, nut, and metal wing with a tab.

Ah, the infamous Warn locktab. So often sought after by the OCD crowd that doesn’t know that once installed, you can’t get most rims off the truck because the clearance is THAT close.

Since those are non-branded hubs I wasn't sure what those were supposed to be mimicking. :) You are correct that those do not have tapered holes.
