I think we are not on the same page. The bumper we want to do is for more serious off-roading. I have never seen a light that is mounted in the wings of a bumper last.

Let me know when the right length shock you need is required, if the white ones I sent you cant be fitt4d at the top :flipoff2:

You might not get all of them. The 12k kills the deal. I am looking at the Warn powerplant thought. I might have a very rough prototype on the truck for Moab. We are doing Ultimate Adventure in June and Warn is a big sponsor, so I am hoping to get my hands on the Powerplant to incorporate it in the design.

My wish list includes (in this order)
1. High and tight - great clearance and approach angle
2. Integrated recovery points
3. Lightest weight as possible but still durable
4. 9K winch is fine
5. Integrated front skid plate
6. No brushbar - or short one like on Short Bus bumper
7. Mounts for a set of off-road lights

As far as the Powerplant goes, I was looking at my ARB mount this weekend and the grill really gets in the way of taller winches. There is tons of room behind there just a grill to worry about. Can't wait to see what you come up with.

Did you lower the upper mount to run the N74L? I have them on my 100 and they don't allow that much drop on the stock mounts on mine? :confused:

That 100 is incredible. What front axle are you running, or is that top-secret? :D Also, what gear ratio are you running with the 39's, are they 4.88's or bigger?

No 5 might not be integrated, but part of the plan. The rest is in-line with our ideas.

We raised the lower mount about 5"

It is a Diamond housing, using 80 series outer ends, with 80 series rear diff in the front. 5.29 gear ratio.

I know I'm asking for the moon.....however, here's my opinion:

The 100 isn't an 80 up front. The nose sticks out much farther. Taking an/your 80-series front bumper and redesigning it to fit the 100 will be an improvement....though will it be "enough" to offer a viable advantage over an ARB? Maybe, though I'd like to see:

1. Make a non-winch version in order to shrink the thing down.
2. Make it a mini/micro design....snugged in as tight to the frame as possible. If there's no room for light mounts then so be it....unless you could bolt a thin flat steel piece to the front of the bumper which would raise thelight up to where they're needed.
3. Have recovery points on the front (not bottom....where they could lessen approach)

The deal is that the 100 needs help. WHO SAID THAT? :D If somebody truly wants to get this series in the same EXTREME places the 80 can, then we need a shortened nose.
I know you'll design a bolt-on. A frame cut and bolt on would be even better in my opinion. That'll be my plan on 100 #2. Meanwhile, if YOUR front bumper offers a good advantage, I'll swap in onto Roklimo.

Actually it does not. The grill, fenders and hood is way higher on a 100 than a 80. It is much easier to make a bumper with a better approach angle then the 80.

You need to take your bumper off and look at the truck. There is 60mm of frame ahead of the body mount. That is it, barely enough to get a good solid bumper mount on it.

That front axle looks very beefy. Do you think the factory rear axle will hold up to 39's? Thanks for sharing this with us, this is a great project that many of us haved dreamt about for quite some time. Its very cool to see it actually happening.

You need to take your bumper off and look at the truck. There is 60mm of frame ahead of the body mount. That is it, barely enough to get a good solid bumper mount on it.

I'll use these responses when I get my 2nd 100. :D

1. Interesting info about the 100 bumper being higher. Sound good.
2. I was hoping on the non-winch style. :)
3. Don't laugh....but I don't care about the body protection "much". A wreck's gonna wreck it anyhow. I want aggressiveness as #1.
4. And yes....I've never seen my truck without the bumper on. Amando said once there's not a whole lotta room for cutting and getting creative. Until I get that 2nd 100 I might not know. Good info though Mr. Slee.
 
The rear axle is 32 spline. The outer ends where it goes through the bearing is about 2" in diameter. It is huge. I wheeled the ShortBus with 30 spline rear axles with 39's for a long time before I broke it. And even then it was due to a stupid driver move. Something I am pretty good at :D
