Hello, my friend owns a 2001 or so 4Runner, alredy has a K&N intake setup and a 3" pipe on it. He wants to upgrade the chip in it, but doesn't know what results he'll actually get. Anyone on here done that? Did you gas mileage improve? Did you power improve?

Yup, your friend should save his $ for a S/C. There's really not much return on investment before that. IMO.
He should put the stock exhaust and stock intake back on to restore the power he has already lost...
