Hello, my friend owns a 2001 or so 4Runner, alredy has a K&N intake setup and a 3" pipe on it. He wants to upgrade the chip in it, but doesn't know what results he'll actually get. Anyone on here done that? Did you gas mileage improve? Did you power improve?

Naturally aspirated there are NO gains to be had with adjusting the computer.

If your friend is really after performance gains I would highly suggest URD products. Just go to customtacos.com or ttora.com and do a search for "URD".

No I’m not affiliated with them, but I am a happy customer…

Actually even if you don't want to use URD stuff I would suggest posing this same question on the boards I listed above.

Yup, your friend should save his $ for a S/C. There's really not much return on investment before that. IMO.
