So did you find a radiator that will work?

Hey Chicago, lookin' good! I've been doing a lot of research on pinion angles, and I'm sure you have this all covered already, but this site Driveline 101 is great for showing what to measure for to keep from getting crazy vibrations in your driveshaft.

BTW...sometimes those dick heads at Summit are DICK HEADS!
I returned the radiator I had and wanted to get a 24 in...The guy DID NOT wanna venture ANY FURTHER than...what make and model, or if I had a part number!
I had to PROD him to help me try and find something that would work. He got pissy with me about it...Am I mistaken, or isnt that their job!?

Ive had numerous encounters like that with them!

Rant over.
There are only a couple of guys there that know their ass from their elbow.

Like the other Dan said, did you find one?

Well...yes and no.
I did manage to get him to go through the right channels in his computer for find the dual PS inlet/ outlet, and we did find the 24x19 size, but they needed to ship it...

So, Im gonna check around on ebay and other locations first.
He did a general radiator search, and of course came up with nothing and was basically like..."well, we dont have anything like that" expecting me to walk away...

Man that place makes me soooo MAD sometimes!

Hadnt really looked into the shaft angles yet. I was planning on running dual CV's front and rear, but that is a good link for the info!

Thanks for posting that up!

Right now, Im just concerned that Ill have enough of a rear shaft to put into this thing!:D

First things first I guess.

Looking good Keith! You'll be wheeling in no time!

Thanks Phil!
Not soon enough, but...all in good time! Its too bad that I had to sell the 62 to be able to build this one.

Thanks for checkin up!

BTW...I started to tear into the 19 spline t case!
Going really slow and methodically with this part in particular. Doing some cleaning as I go.

Pics to come!

You'll make up for the rear shaft in front, that's going to be a poet, a Longfellow.

Any trouble getting it off the tranny out put shaft?

It took Shawn and I both to get mine apart.

Not there yet my man.
Just started the disassembly...flanges, covers etc. I had to stop, or id have kept going all night.
Finally got that military leaf drilled/ plasma'd.... THAT is some HARD ASS STEEL there. I tried NUMEROUS bits on the press, and NOTHING would touch em. Had to go ahead and use the plasma to get most of the way there, then used a step bit for the last bit.
Also cleaned the bench up, laid out some OR towels and stapled them down to make a "sterile" area!:D

K

T case is apart!
How the hell do you clean the outside of these things?
What a frickin MESS!

No, you're right. The split case is very logical and well thought out. It goes back together just as easy.

A green scott pad, some degreaser and a little bit of time worked for me.

Thanks Boots...
I suppose that a pressure washer wouldnt touch that crap, eh?
When you did yours, did you pull the input shaft?

K

Yes, I pulled everything because I got a rebuilt kit so I pulled the front to replace the seal and a bearing if I remember right. I hit mine with a pressure washer, engine bright, and even a wire wheel but it didn't get it nice and clean. Try the easy route first and maybe a pressure washer will get it clean. 20 yrs of grease just laughed at mine.

Oven cleaner works well on parts like that. Pressure wash it off after letting it sit for a while...
