I am looking at a set of tires a fellow has that are mounted on avalanche rims. He has lugs and center caps as well.

The bolt pattern appears to be the same as a 1996 Landcruiser- 6 x 5.5. Not sure about the size of the hole for the hub though...I'd think it would be the same but I am not really sure. It would be just to convenient though if the thread pattern on the lugs was the same. It would just be nice if I don't need to re-mount them and the rims are in very good condition.

Any one have any insight into this?

Most Chevy rims have a much smaller center hole.

I did a little googling and the centerbore is way smaller than the toyota's. You would need a machine shop to bore out the center of the wheel. I've had it done in the past and it wasn't a big deal at all.

The Chevy rims may not be the same offset as your current wheels, so clearance could be an issue?

Instead of boring out the centers of the wheels just grab a set of toyota wheels and sell the avalanche ones.

As mentioned earlier, no... without modification the Chevy wheels won't work on the Toy hub..

Funny story... I used to work for the local Chevy dealership. Had a customer come in with a first gen Chevy Colorado. The Colorado wheels would work on your Cruiser if you could run 15's, they have the larger hub like Toyotas do. The customer had their Colorado at a less than reputable shop for winter tire and wheel installation, the shop had sold them a set of mid 90's C/K 4x4 wheels from a half ton truck......

....

....

with the smaller center hole. They were installed and the shop told the customer they had to be extra careful when torquing the lugnuts to make absolutely sure the wheel was centered on the hub since it would't fit over the actual hub surface. The customer drove it to the dealership and brought it in complaining of bad vibration and horrible driving characteristics. They couldn't believe why it wasn't covered under warranty....they were Chevy wheels afterall...

My rims came from a guy who was running them on Chevy avalanche, and the back space was 4.25 and clears the hub these are lug centric rim on my 94

Wheels that fit an LC would mount on an Avalanche, but not necessarily the other way around, so if the wheels you're talking about were not the original Avalanche wheels then that makes sense.

Yea not original alvalche rims after market
